THE SHACK Reclaims Top Spots on New York Times Bestseller List Four Weeks Straight

Nashville, Tenn (March 24, 2017) –THE SHACK by William P. Young has claimed the #1 spot on the New York Times bestsellers lists for both paperback fiction and combined print and eBook fiction for the last four weeks consecutively. Originally published in 2007, this debut novel and long-time bestseller is enjoying a commanding resurgence in sales in conjunction with the recent release of a major motion picture based on the book.

A bonafide publishing phenomenon, THE SHACK is released by Hachette Nashville. It has topped 22 million copies sold worldwide, spent more than 50 weeks atop multiple bestseller lists, and has been translated into thirty-four languages.

Originally written by an Oregon salesman as a story for his children, THE SHACKbecame a runaway bestseller. It is the story of a man whose young daughter is abducted during a family vacation, and who four years later receives a note, apparently from God, inviting him back to the shack where his daughter’s blood had been discovered, The Shack reveals provocative and poignant views of God and his relationship to humanity.

THE SHACK movie released on March 3, 2017 by Lionsgate Films and debuted in the third spot at the box office. In it Octavia Spencer stars in the role of “Papa,” and is joined by actors Sam Worthington, Tim McGraw, and Radha Mitchell in leading roles.
