CAROL STREAM, Ill. (May 1, 2018)—Tyndale House Publishers announced today the celebration of the three millionth Life Recovery Bible in print. Widely used in tangent with the 12 Step recovery programs, in correctional facilities, and by individuals seeking help taking their life back from behaviors and substances that have held them captive, The Life Recovery Bible has received incredible feedback in its 25 years of existence, bolstering it to the position of the bestselling recovery-specific Bible. Millions of people addicted to illegal drugs, alcohol, and the growing abuse of prescription pain killers have found redemption and healing using The Life Recovery Bible. Tyndale House Publishers, along with authors Stephen Arterburn, M.Ed., and David Stoop, Ph.D., announced the three million Bible milestone and celebrated the achievement with the launch of the 25th Anniversary Edition featuring completely refreshed content, including new articles on addiction, the challenges of recovery in a secular environment, and the early history of life recovery.
“The Bible is the greatest recovery book ever written,” says Arterburn. “The goal of The Life Recovery Bible is to help those with addiction move from wherever they are to a place closer to God, closer to those who love them, and closer to those who may have given up on them. Over the past 25 years, we’ve heard of thousands of people whose lives have been changed through the pages of this Bible.”
The Life Recovery Bible is given away to thousands of men and women each month in correctional facilities through a variety of prison ministries. One inmate wrote, “The Life Recovery Bible has changed my life so much because it is easy to read. It, along with my prayers, has made me decide to go into taking seminary classes. Thank you so much for providing a path to eternal life. Thank you for all you do and for helping out people who are in prison when most of the people we know and love have turned their backs on us. Thank you for encouraging us and providing us with a way to be free on the inside before we ever leave. Thank you and God bless.
The Life Recovery Bible includes additional information on external resources to connect leaders of recovery programs inside and outside the church. For leaders and recoverees alike, The Life Recovery Bible offers a guide for life recovery meetings, both in the form of an attendee’s experience and in tangible recommendations of a guide specific to facilitators.
Easily the most useful, relevant resource for those in the process of life recovery, The Life Recovery Bible manages to uniquely balance the secular 12 Step Program with the clear, understandable New Living Translation text, and the result is powerful. It has been this way for 25 years, and the future looks strong for the next 25.
