CHICAGO, Feb. 25, 2021 — Oasis International, publisher of the Africa Study Bible and many other titles that speak to the unique issues and challenges of the church in Africa, are offering their free Lent devotional, Lent Through African Eyes, for the third year in a row. “Following the launch of the Africa Study Bible in 2016, we have developed several free resources to encourage and guide readers as they journey and discover Jesus through African eyes, a perspective all of us can benefit from. Thousands of readers across the world are being impacted as they understand Scripture stripped of the western clothes we often see in devotionals written in the US and Europe.” says Dr. Matthew Elliott, President of Oasis.
This 40-day devotional explores the Lenten themes of prayer, fasting, repentance, and alms-giving through the lens of the Africa Study Bible, which uses cultural understandings to apply Scripture to everyday life in Africa while still offering unique insights to the global church.
Since first releasing the devotional in 2019, Lent Through African Eyes has had over 5,000 subscribers and Oasis hopes to reach even more people with this unique resource in 2021. To sign up to receive daily emails, and experience this devotional go to oasisinternational.com/lent.
