ONE MILLION BIBLES: A CROSSWAY GLOBAL INITIATIVE
WHEATON, Ill.—Beginning November 8, 2023, Crossway is pleased to announce the launch of an end-of-year fundraising campaign to aid the ongoing effort to distribute one million ESV Bibles around the world. The goal of this phase of the campaign is to raise $600,000 by December 31, 2023, to support the printing and distribution of an additional 150,000 Bibles around the world. Achieving this goal would help Crossway to surpass the halfway mark of the overall goal of distributing one million Bibles.
“It’s a blessing to be able to reach our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world by providing them with an ESV Bible,” says Josh Dennis, Crossway President & CEO. “The Lord has graciously provided for this initiative thus far, and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing how he continues to provide. We’re confident that he will use each of these one million Bibles to grow and deepen the faith of many.”
Throughout the past year, God has provided many donors to support the One Million Bibles Initiative. And by God’s grace, 127,000 Bibles have been distributed to ministry partners throughout the Global South, with over 250,000 additional copies in process. These Bibles will equip believers to worship the Lord in truth and more faithfully minister to their communities.
These Bibles are being freely provided to Christians in places of great need and strategically subsidized in other locations where the need is just as great but the current priority is building sustainable, long-term Bible distribution models. By partnering with churches, ministry networks, and other organizations in the Global South, Crossway’s goal is to provide the Word of God to one million Christians who would otherwise not have access to their own Bibles.
