Christian publishing leader, agent, and author Robert Wolgemuth passes away

Author, literary agent, and Christian publishing leader Robert Wolgemuth passed away on Saturday, January 10, at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife, Bible teacher and ministry leader Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, along with his children, grandchildren, extended family, and a wide community of friends and colleagues.

Wolgemuth co-founded Christian publisher Wolgemuth & Hyatt, and served on the board of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. He then founded the literary agency Wolgemuth & Associates. He authored more than 20 books, selling over two million copies, with five receiving accolades from the ECPA Gold Medallion program (now Christian Book Awards).

“In his multifaceted roles as an author, agent, publisher, and former ECPA board chair, Robert Wolgemuth had an extraordinary impact on the Christian publishing industry,” ECPA president Jeff Crosby said. “But beyond those formal roles and titles, he was a voice of encouragement, guidance and mentorship to so many of us who followed behind him in our own work in this space. I am among that number, and add my voice of tribute upon his passing and extend my condolences to Nancy and the entire family even as I join them in thanking God for his safe journey home.”
