Introduce Kids to Studying the Bible for Themselves
What better way to encourage our children to love God’s Word than to provide them with a tool to study the Bible for themselves? With his latest release, best-selling author Marty Machowski invites kids to engage God through a Bible study written just for them.
God and Me: The First Story–Genesis 1–3(New Growth Press/August 31, 2026), leads young readers ages 7–11 on a study of the first three chapters of Genesis that they can do all on their own. Readers will explore their “first story,” from the beginning of Genesis, learning who God is, how they are made to reflect God, how the world got messed up, and how Jesus can restore them.
God and Me is written in an interactive format with a conversational tone, starting an introduction to Bible facts and things to know about studying the Bible. Machowski teaches children to engage Scripture through four simple steps: Read, Think, Remember, and Follow. In each of the fifteen lessons, children will explore the foundational stories of Genesis through activities, memorization, and personal applications. Readers are also invited to share what they have learned with their friends.
“There are a lot of Bible studies for teens and adults but few for children, especially those who are just learning to read on their own. I wanted to provide a Bible devotion for young readers that would start a lifetime of Bible exploration and give them the tools they need to study Scripture,” Machowski explains. “The combination of study questions, fun activities, and helpful commentary is designed to reach children and stand out among a sea of Bible Study material that is simply too advance for elementary aged readers.”
God and Me is the first in the Bible Study for Kids series. Each study will ground children in Scripture and the gospel so that they can build their lives on Jesus and his Word. Not only will children will learn foundational truths, but they will also begin to foster a lifelong love for God and his Word. The next book in the series will be titled Jesus and Me (available fall 2027) and will lead students on an exploration of the first three chapters of the gospel of John.
