Submit a paper or topic idea for work related to the Bible and technology
BELLINGHAM, Wash., Dec. 21, 2018 — Technology is becoming a bigger and bigger part of everything-including how people handle Scripture. In response to this trend, Faithlife began hosting BibleTech, a semi-annual gathering of individuals working at or near the intersection of Scripture and technology. The 2019 conference planning team is actively looking for papers or discussion topics and is accepting submissions now through Monday, January 14, 2019.
About the Conference
The BibleTech Conference is April 11-12, 2019, at Cedarbrook Lodge in Seattle, WA. The conference explores how expanding technology affects how we handle the Bible, from translation and interpretation to communication and transmission.
The conference provides an opportunity for participants to connect with others in the church technology industry and be informed on new ways people are using technology for biblical studies and ministry, whether in the church, missions, or the classroom.
Paper and Topic Submissions
Anyone working on technology related to the Bible or Scripture is encouraged to submit a paper or topic for discussion. Past conferences have included panelists from a wide variety of fields, including CEO’s, programmers, publishers, designers, information scientists, pastors, CTO’s, and others covering topics such as:
- Why Bible Typography Matters
- Localizing Bible Data
- Seeing the Big Picture, Visualizing the Bible Data
- Leveraging Data to Simplify and Sharpen Analysis of the Greek Text
The participation form is available now through January 14, 2019. Because the conference receives many entries, submissions should be as detailed as possible, and each paper or topic requires a separate submission. Speakers will be chosen in early 2019.
