ECPA releases January’s 2020 Christian Bestsellers: Devotionals dominate

What do Tony Dungy, Bob Goff, Billy Graham, Lisa TerKeurst, Paul David Tripp, and Sarah Young have in common? They all have written devotionals that are scattered among the Top 50 Christian Bestsellers list for January. Bob Goff’s Live in Grace, Walk in Love: A 365-Day Journey (Thomas Nelson) is the top selling devotional and the fourth highest ranking book overall.

2019 Year in Review: The bestselling books and Bibles of the year 

For the second year in a row, Rachel Hollis’ mega hit Girl, Wash Your Face (Thomas Nelson) was the top selling book of the year, showing the staying power of this title, which also was the #8 bestselling book overall in the general market. Released in 1992, The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman (Moody Publishers) was the #2 book in 2019, also for the second year in a row.

ECPA releases the bestselling Christmas books in 2019

Fresh off the Christmas season, the 2019 year in review also features the bestselling Christmas books in three categories: Nonfiction, Fiction, and Juvenile. The #1 book in Top 50 Christmas NonFiction bestsellers list was Jesus Calling for Christmas by Sarah Young (Thomas Nelson), followed by Christmas Ideals by Melinda Lee Rathjen (Ideals/Worthy Publishing). Abingdon dominated the nonfiction Christmas list with 28 of the Top 50 titles.

Baker Publishing Group wins Christianity Today Awards

Christianity Today recently announced the winners of their 2020 Book Awards. Two Baker Publishing Group titles received top honors, and one title received an award of merit. "Light from Distant Stars" by Shawn Smucker was selected as the winner in the Fiction category, and "On the Road with Saint Augustine" by James K. A. Smith won the Spiritual Formation category. "For the Life of the World" by Miroslav Volf and Matthew Croasmun received an award of merit in the Theology/Ethics category.
