Last week concluded the ECPA Virtual Summit Series with legal experts from Flagler Law Group and AAP who offered their perspectives on successfully navigating the legal issues affecting publishing. Scheduled next is a three-part series for ECPA members called ECPA FOCUS, focusing on three current topics: China & Global publishing; Organizational diversity initiatives for sustained change; and Christian Retail.
ECPA members can now register for each of these free webinars, held on Thursdays — July 9, 16, and 23 — at 10 am central.
Industry leaders develop virtual training program: PubU Online
ECPA’s annual training and networking program is going online this year but is still reliant on the expertise of industry leaders to curate the content. The PubU Online Brain Trust of industry leaders charged with developing the content and recruiting the speakers for the 2020 PubU Online program are:

Call for Submissions for best book and Bible designs of the year
The ECPA Top Shelf Book Cover Award program is accepting nominations for the 2020 program until August 15. Books must be published by an ECPA member from June 2019 to August 2020. Winners will be announced during the closing session of PubU Online on October 1st. BMI launches printing RFQ tool
The Book Manufacturers’ Institute (BMI), has launched a new Request for Quote (RFQ) tool for those looking to get multiple bids for book printing. The tool, named BMIsource, will allow users to either search the BMI Member Directory by various capabilities in order to reach out directly to manufacturers, or fill out a form with job details that will be sent to manufacturers to review and respond with a quote.

ECPA recently presented a BRONZE AWARD to The Good Book Company for its title, “Where is God in a Coronavirus World?” by John C. Lennox – which exceeded 100,000 in sales. Originally published in April 2020, the sales milestone was achieved in June 2020.
“The Victory of the Cross” wins 2020 Word Guild Award
“The Victory of the Cross” by James R. Payton Jr. has won the 2020 Word Guild Award in the Academic Non-fiction category. The Word Guild Awards are given out each year to encourage the pursuit of excellence in writing and to help to raise the profile of Canadian writers who are Christian.
