Grand, Rapids, Mich. (Jan. 2020)— Zondervan, a division of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, is proud to announce the upcoming release of the NIV Grace and Truth Study Bible with General Editor Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr.
Dr. Mohler is one of the foremost voices for evangelicals worldwide. He is the president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary – the flagship school of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is also the current president of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) and is to be nominated for president of the Southern Baptist Convention.
“Book by book through the Bible, 42 wonderful teachers of God’s Word contributed to this project,” remarks Dr. Mohler. “Each of them took time from other pursuits to join in this effort, bringing their pastoral, biblical, and theological skills to this study Bible. Without them, this study Bible would not exist. With them, we shared the joy of helping God’s people to understand the Bible more deeply. I am thankful for every one of them. A project like this is a labor of love and devotion that finds its fulfillment only when it is used. May God bless this study Bible so that it serves his people, not only in this generation, but for generations to come.”
The Bible team at Zondervan shepherded this project over a number of years and is thrilled to announce it to the world. “We are honored to be publishing this landmark study Bible,” says Melinda Bouma, vice president and publisher of Bibles for Zondervan. “The editorial committee can be proud of their accomplishment, having achieved their goal that readers of the Bible will learn to see grace and truth revealed on every page of God’s Word. This Bible will be a significant offering, impacting readers for many years to come.”
This flagship study Bible releases in the bestselling, widely used and trusted New International Version (NIV) translation. Dr. Mohler notes, “We need to be thankful that we have so many good, faithful, accurate, and trustworthy English translations of the Scriptures. The NIV stands out because of its readability and accessibility. Its very origins were that ordinary evangelical Christians would have a good, common translation of Scripture—one that is trustworthy. And for these reasons, the committee and I are pleased to launch this Bible to a broad group of evangelical Christians through pairing our study notes with the NIV text.”
In addition to the NIV editions in English, Vida Publishing will simultaneously release this Bible in Spanish as the NBLA Biblia de Estudio Gracia y Verdad. “Creating a Bible of this magnitude is a testament to the editorial committee’s commitment to the whole counsel of God. Doing so simultaneously across two leading world-languages is a testament to their commitment to all nations,” says Cris Garrido, vice president and publisher for Vida Publishers. “This has been a massive undertaking, but one that has the potential to shape a generation of churchgoers globally. The world is hungry for both God’s grace and his truth; this Bible will bring readers closer to both.”
The NIV Grace and Truth Study Bible and NBLA Biblia de Estudio Gracia y Verdad will be available in August 2021 in a wide variety of binding types. For more information, visit www.graceandtruthbible.com.

Representing the spectrum of evangelicalism, the translators come from a wide range of denominations and various countries and continually review new research to ensure the NIV remains at the forefront of accessibility, relevance, and authority. Every NIV Bible that is purchased helps Biblica translate and give Bibles to people in need around the world.
