ECPA releases August bestseller lists: includes both trusted and emerging voices

The August 2021 ECPA bestseller lists feature a host of books written by well-known and long-established writers with 18 publishers represented in the month’s New Releases list.  The #1 title in New Releases is Louie Giglio’s “Don’t Give the Enemy A Seat At Your Table” (Thomas Nelson).

DEI and Christian Publishing: ECPA member webinar this Thursday

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are imperative, continual processes for every Christian publisher in order to be relevant to the markets they serve and faithful to God’s Kingdom work.  But what are the practical areas a publishing business must address?  Professional DEI consultant Skot Welch (Global Bridgebuilders) and members of the newly formed ECPA DEI committee – Chair Tina Constable (WaterBrook Multnomah), Ed Gilbreath (CT), and Jevon Bolden (EMG) – will talk about what is needed at each level of publishing and what initiatives are ahead for the industry. Held this Thursday, August 12 at 10 am central, the webinar is part of the free ECPA Focus series for ECPA members.  Last week’s webinar explored the legal landscape with industry attorneys, and next week’s webinar will talk with supply chain experts on August 19.

Bradley Isbell, Iron Stream COO, named to ECPA's PubU Brain Trust

Iron Stream Media is so excited to announce that Bradley Isbell, COO, has been selected as part of the Brain Trust for ECPA’s PubU Online for 2021. Isbell joins other industry leaders in creating and hosting online courses to be delivered at the PubU online event November 3-12. Isbell will co-leading the Operations Track with Kathy Krenzien (Gateway Publishing), sharing his expertise in distribution, inventory management, and royalties.

Top Shelf Book Cover Award submission deadline is August 31

ECPA publishers are invited to showcase their best book and Bible designs of the year by nominating them for the Top Shelf Book Cover Award this month. The program celebrates the year’s best book designs in Christian publishing and is judged each year by top designers. Winners will be announced on November 12 during the ECPA PubU Online conference.  Submission deadline is August 31.

Hope amid cancer drives new children’s book with B&H, “When I Hold You”

In 2017, Ashley Huffstutler, at 29 years old, received news she had terminal brain cancer. Having just given birth to her second child, all she wanted to do was hold her two girls for as long as she could. But Huffstutler sensed God nudging her, telling her there was more to do. She felt God saying, “In this more, others will see my glory.” This prompting led to the conception of the children’s book “When I Hold You” from B&H Publishing, a division of Lifeway Christian Resources.
