Call for Submissions:  Christian Book Award® program

The ECPA Christian Book Awards, honoring excellence in publishing, has opened its submission process for the 2022 awards. Member publishers have until September 30 to submit titles published between October 2020 and October of 2021. PubU Online early bird registration opens

ECPA’s virtual event, PubU Online, will deliver targeted, accessible training and connection for the industry this November in the following day-long tracks:

• November 3:    CHILDREN’S BOOK SUMMIT
• November 8:    MARKETING TRACK
• November 9:    DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION TRACK
• November 10:  EDITORIAL TRACK
• November 11:  PRODUCTION & OPERATIONS TRACK
• November 12:  DESIGN TRACK + TOP SHELF AWARDS

For the early bird rate of $109, attendees receive an all-access pass to the full conference so they can customize their schedule and training.  After October 1st, registration is $135.  All sessions, speakers, schedule, and registration is at ECPAPubU.org.

ECPA releases September 2021 Christian Bestsellers

ECPA has released September’s bestseller lists in 11 categories.  Seven brand new releases made their way onto the Top 50 list this month, with Jackie Hill Perry’s Holier Than Thou: How God’s Holiness Helps Us Trust Him (B&H) coming in at #2 in both the Top 50 and NonFiction lists.

Sessions for Art of Writing conference announced

The Christy Award® Art of Writing online conference for writers, storytellers and publishing curators will be held over four Thursday evenings, from September 30 to and October 21. The cost is $79 for all four sessions that will cover the following topics from industry experts:

• How to Be a Publishing Team’s Dream Author
• Book Promotion Design Principles for Non-Designers
• Writing with Authenticity and Intentionality
• Emotional, Spiritual, and Mental Health for Creatives

This year, the free winners webcast Gala on October 28 will feature ‘The Chosen’ creator and director DALLAS JENKINS, with tributes to Walter Wangerin, Jr. by PHILIP YANCEY and PETE PETERSON.
