Colorado Springs, CO – Magazine Training International (MTI) is pleased to announce new partnerships with co-sponsor Tyndale House Foundation and contributing sponsor Stiftung Christliche Medien, as they join the Crisis Publishing Initiative. The Crisis Publishing Initiative conference will be held on Oct. 15-18, 2017, at the Hotel Lövér in Sopron, Hungary.
The Initiative is for Christians in publishing on the front lines, as they seek to find the truth in chaotic situations and publish the information their readers need in order to respond to crises as those called to be light and salt in a fractured world.
“We value the opportunity to partner with MTI for the Crisis Publishing Initiative because we see it as another opportunity where we can pool the resources God has given each of us and invite him to act,” says Mary Kleine Yehling, vice president and executive director of Tyndale House Foundation (THF).
THF grew out of an underlying conviction that every person should have the opportunity to be confronted by the reality of the love of God as revealed in Jesus Christ. This conviction provides the impetus behind the Foundation’s basic purpose: To minister to the spiritual needs of people, primarily through literature consistent with biblical principles.
Stiftung Christliche Medien (SCM) is a German Christian foundation whose goal is to promote the role of Christian media as a means and tool of the Gospel. The SCM Publishing Group includes four Christian book and music publishing houses and a Christian magazine publishing group with 15 magazines and Internet ministries. The organization’s vision is “together for the One who counts,” with the motto “inspired life; contagious faith.”
“We sponsored the meeting because we know and treasure the work of Magazine Training International,” says Ulrich Eggers, publisher and CEO of SCM. “And we want to help train and inspire Christian journalists and authors to give their best for Jesus.”
Other sponsors include co-sponsor Lydia Stiftung of Germany and contributing sponsor Christianity Today of the United States. Organizations become sponsors in the Crisis Publishing Initiative when they make a donation towards the Initiative. As sponsors, they are involved in the development of the program, the selection of speakers, advertising to their constituents, and assisting in gathering additional funding.
In addition to the sponsors, several organizations from the U.S. and U.K have joined the Crisis Publishing Initiative Coalition, which serves as a board of reference for the Initiative.
MTI is now accepting registrations at a 15% discount from the regular registration fee of $450. The “Early Bird Special” discounted registration fee is $380, and is available now through July 15, 2017.
The mission of Magazine Training International is to encourage, strengthen, and provide resources to Christian magazines as they seek to build the church and reach their societies for Christ. Over the last 28 years, MTI has offered some 65 conferences, courses, and seminars on-site in East/Central Europe, Asia, and North America.
