The album, FAITHFUL: Go and Speak, is slated to drop April 30, the FAITHFUL book will release May 1, and today, tickets go on sale for the  FAITHFUL Livestream event to be held Saturday, May 1. Click here for more information.

The FAITHFUL Livestream will be an amazing and unforgettable evening created and curated by some of the most thought-provoking and influential Christian artists and authors of our time. This unprecedented livestream will feature a collaboration between many of the FAITHFUL artists and authors sharing God’s faithfulness to women throughout Scripture and all the way to present through stories and song. It is the hope of everyone involved that each viewer will walk away from the livestream event with an increased understanding of how God has always valued the integral role of women and how He continues to guide, shape, and protect their lives today. The livestream event is being produced by Compassion LIVE,  established in 2014 by Compassion International, which produces life-changing events that share the message of faith and impact the church for children around the world.

Ticket prices for the FAITHFUL Livestream event begin at just $29. For only $59, it includes a ticket to the livestream along with a copy of the FAITHFUL book and the FAITHFUL: Go and Speak CD. As a third tier, for a child sponsorship through Compassion International, you will receive a ticket into the FAITHFUL livestream, the book and CD, plus access to a separate VIP on-demand series. HERE’S MORE INFORMATION: When a young girl feels empowered, she stands up against injustice. She stays in school and resists early marriage and fights exploitation, and she grows up to teach the next generation of girls that each one is created by God with a purpose and a plan. We know that it’s impossible for anyone to reach their potential when their basic needs – food, shelter, clothes, and healthcare – are not met. By sponsoring a child through Compassion International, you can take the heart of the FAITHFUL project and put it into action. The participating artists and authors tell the stories God’s faithfulness to women throughout Scripture, and we can take it a step further by showing these young girls what it looks like to be loved, protected and known. For tickets, visit here.

MORE ABOUT THE FAITHFUL PROJECT: Coming to life in the winter before the pandemic, a group of well-known and respected authors and songwriters gathered as a community to write and share songs. Their work came to be known as FAITHFUL, songs and stories of God’s kindness to women throughout history and here with us today.  The FAITHFUL book is an eclectic collection of written stories, lyrics, photos, and art created and curated by some of today’s most distinguished and thoughtful Christian artists and authors. Amanda Bible Williams, Ann Voskamp, Ginny Owens, Kelly Minter, Kelly Needham, Lisa Harper, Raechel Myers, Ruth Chou Simons, Sally Lloyd-Jones, Sarah Macintosh, Savannah Locke, and Trillia Newbell, with an introduction by Amy Grant, gathered to create this keepsake book that celebrates God and the enduring legacy of women in the Bible.

The album, FAITHFUL: Go And Speak, shares songs from many of today’s renowned artists, songwriters, and authors. Each song on this special thematic album features a woman telling the story of God’s faithfulness throughout Scripture to the present day, and this collaboration between artists and authors has led to a collection of poetry and resonance through song. Artists involved on the album are Amy Grant, Ellie Holcomb, Ann Voskamp, Sarah Macintosh, Sandra McCracken, Ginny Owens, Leslie Jordan, Christy Nockels, Rachael Lampa, Kelly Minter, Savannah Locke, Sarah Kroger, Christa Wells, Tamar Chipp, Jess Ray, Janice Gaines, Trilla Newbell, and Taylor Leonhardt.

NavPress’s Renovated by Dr. Jim Wilder selected as Outreach Magazine Resource of the Year in Church category

March 1, 2021 by Sheri Toomb

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. (February 25, 2021) – Outreach Magazine (www.outreachmagazine.com), which provides practical resources for pastors and volunteer leadership, has announced that NavPress (@NavPress) book Renovated: God, Dallas Willard, and the Church That Transforms (SC, 978-1-64158-167-7, April 2020) by Dr. Jim Wilder has been selected as its Resource of the Year in the Church category. The book will be highlighted in an upcoming issue of Outreach as well as online.

Dr. Wilder, a neurotheologian and founder of Life Model Works, draws on the teachings of the beloved mentor in Christian spiritual formation Dallas Willard to show that neurology confirms what Christianity has quietly affirmed all along—humans are formed far more by whom we love than by what we believe. By framing Christian faith as a loving attachment to God rather than just a set of beliefs to hold to, Dr. Wilder offers a way to go beyond sin management and toward deeper transformation into the image of Christ.

David Zimmerman, NavPress acquisitions editor, said “I’m not at all surprised that Jim Wilder’s Renovated has proven so helpful for the church. The inner workings of our minds, the hidden functions of our brains, the discipling of our emotions, and the Spirit moving in us and transforming us—these great mysteries are where we have the most to learn, the most room for growth. We’re all very grateful for the insight Jim brought to this book into how we come to be the kind of people who think with God, and we’re grateful for the passion he brings to the task of helping people move toward emotional and spiritual maturity.”

An Outreach excerpt from Wilder’s book is available here:  Salvation Is a New Attachment – OutreachMagazine.com

For additional information about Renovated, as well as other NavPress products, visit: www.navpress.com.

Dr. Jim Wilder is a neurotheologian who has trained leaders and counselors for nearly 30 years on five continents. The founder of Life Model Works, he is an expert on the intersection of theology and brain science. He is coauthor of Rare Leadership and Living from the Heart Jesus Gave You.

The mission of NavPress is to advance the calling of The Navigators by bringing biblically rooted, culturally relevant, and highly practical products to people who want to know and love Christ more deeply. Through The Message Bible and other insightful resources, NavPress seeks to bring positive spiritual movement to people’s lives. In January 2014, NavPress entered into an alliance with Tyndale House Publishers to strengthen and better position NavPress and its rich content for the future. NavPress provides books and other content that bring spiritual impact and life transformation, and help lead in the mission of making disciples.

Andrew Peterson returns to Ryman Auditorium for “Easter Monday” events

March 1, 2021 by Sheri Toomb

Livestreaming Internationally, Events Highlight Music From Peterson’s 5-Star-Acclaimed Resurrection Letters Anthology

ChildFund, Samaritan Ministries, B&H Publishing Group Sponsor Events Featuring Taylor Leonhardt, Skye Peterson

Recording artist, songwriter, producer, filmmaker, publisher and award-winning author Andrew Peterson returns to Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, bringing his “Easter Monday” to the iconic venue for back-to-back events April 5. Featuring a full band, singer / songwriter Taylor Leonhardt and special guest Skye Peterson, the limited capacity evening presentation is already nearly sold-out and a second matinee has been added.

Peterson is also inviting those not able to attend in-person to join the “Easter Monday” event via livestream from anywhere in the world. The livestream begins at 7:00 pm CT on April 5 with single household and congregation / group tickets available now at andrew-peterson.com/easter-monday. Congregations / groups that order before March 26 will also receive a personalized greeting video from Peterson.

While at the Ryman, Peterson will lead fan favorites from his expansive song catalogue along with a special focus on his highly-acclaimed Resurrection Letters Anthology that includes the Prologue, Volume 1 and Volume 2 album trilogy. Prologue is a collection of five “waiting songs” meant to remind listeners of the gravity of the crucifixion while Volume 1 features his globally-sung call and response anthem for the church, “Is He Worthy,” and begins with the heartbeat of the resurrected Christ, exploring the resurrection itself and its centrality to Christianity. Volume 2 songs delve thematically into the implications of Christ’s resurrection victory over sin and death.

“The Resurrection Letters songs were ten years in the making. I cried more joyful tears during the process of writing and recording them than any others because the subject matter is so very good and beautiful and true,” says Peterson. “It’s my sincere hope that the same feeling will be reflected on this Easter Monday – that you’ll be moved to greater gratitude, greater awe, and greater love for our Lord after dwelling on these songs and singing them with us. He is risen, indeed.”

This year’s “Andrew Peterson’s Easter Monday at the Ryman” concert is being sponsored by ChildFund, a child development organization based in Richmond, VA that is committed to improving the well-being of children in some of the world’s poorest places. The event is also sponsored by Samaritan Ministries, a community of Christians paying one another’s medical bills, and B&H Publishing Group, an imprint of LifeWay Christian Resources and a team of mission minded people with a passion for taking God’s Word to the world.

In addition to his music and touring, Peterson’s novels in his wildly imaginative fantasy adventure series, The Wingfeather Saga, have released in special editions from WaterBrook/Penguin Random House. The six books are available as collector’s hardcovers that include all new illustrations and hand-drawn maps, intrinsic to the classic and imaginative Wingfeather style.

Peterson also released his first adult trade book, Adorning the Dark: Thoughts on Community, Calling, and the Mystery of Making. Receiving awards from Christianity Today, WORLD Magazine, The Gospel Coalition and more, this memoir of Peterson’s journey shares the intersection of his songwriting, storytelling and vocation, along with nuts-and-bolts exploration of the great mystery of creativity.

Baker Publishing Group signs powerful devotional of justice and lament by women of color, led by Natasha Sistrunk Robinson

March 1, 2021 by Sheri Toomb

Ada, Mich. (March 1, 2021)— Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group, recently signed author Natasha Sistrunk Robinson as editor and contributing writer of a powerful collection of devotions of justice and lament for and by women of color inspired by Psalm 37—featuring the voices of contributors Vivian Mabuni, Sandra Van Opstal, Cole Arthur Riley (Black Liturgies), Patricia Raybon, Marlena Graves, Kathy Khang, and more.

This significant book, scheduled for a fall 2022 release, offers a place for Christian women of color who have faced deep suffering and injustice in their communities to hold their lament in holy tension with hope and love in this collection of devotions, poems, liturgies, and prayer.

“With this book and its group of writers, Natasha is bringing women of color together in a community of sacred belonging that both inspires and instructs me,” said Kelsey Bowen, Revell acquisitions editor. “I’m thankful for her trust in Revell to bring this unique book to our readers. The God-given words from these writers will bless fellow women of color and sit with all readers for a long time.”

Robinson says, “It is with honor and great humility that I am entrusted to steward the voices, stories, and history of women of color from across the world. We know about suffering and lament. We stand for justice and fight for the least of these. We follow in the footsteps of our mothers and ancestors who have strong histories of persisting in the struggle for righteousness, while weary and hopeful. We have been doing this sacred work together in our communities for a mighty long time, and that is why we are best positioned to lead when the world and the church in the United States is in so much upheaval. It is with my deepest love for God and his people that I offer the gift of this book to the church, and to do so in partnership with the Revell team, who have not only spoken to the systemic injustices in the church and within the Christian publishing industry but are intentionally taking actions to correct them and chart a new way ahead.”

Natasha Sistrunk Robinson is the author of A Sojourner’s Truth and Mentor for Life, and host of the A Sojourner’s Truth: Conversations for a Changing Culture podcast. She intentionally serves as a credible witness of Christ’s leadership to engage, equip, and empower people to live and lead on purpose. She is the president of T3 Leadership Solutions, Inc., where she provides consulting, speaking, training, and leadership executive coaching services. As the visionary founder and chairperson of Leadership LINKS, Inc., she is committed to cultivating an intergenerational and multiethnic network of leaders who are committed to using their skills and resources for the greater good of humanity. Natasha is a doctorate of ministry student at North Park Theological Seminary, and a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Charlotte (cum laude, M.A. Christian Leadership) and the U.S. Naval Academy. A former Marine Corps officer, she has over 20 years of leadership and mentoring experience in the military, government, church, seminary, and nonprofit sectors.

Barbour celebrates 40th Anniversary

February 22, 2021 by Sheri Toomb

Uhrichsville, OH—The year 2021 marks a very special date in Barbour Publishing history—the 40th anniversary of being in business.

Originally called “Book Bargains,” the company was founded in 1981 by Christian publishing visionary Hugh Barbour who initially focused on selling overstocks. Soon, however, the business transitioned to publishing its own titles, including The Bible Promise Book® which has gone on to sell millions of copies. In the years to follow, Barbour experienced phenomenal growth under the leadership of Tim Martins, including expansion of product lines, imprints, facilities, and a talented team of employees. In 2017, Barbour became one of the first employee-owned companies in the Christian Publishing industry.

To commemorate this special occasion, the company has decided to get back to its roots with a rebranding initiative. The core Barbour Publishing logo has been slightly updated with a more modern look and several of the company’s imprints have been revised so that the trusted Barbour name takes center stage. The Spanish imprint Casa Promesa is now Barbour Español, Shiloh Kidz is Barbour Kidz, and Shiloh Run Press has been broken down into multiple Barbour-focused categories. The new imprints made their debut with the January 2021 publishing list.

“The rebranding initiative came out of several team discussions during our regular strategy meetings,” explains Mary Burns, President and CEO. “As we thought about who Barbour is in the industry and what we are known for, we came up with words and phrases like ‘trustworthy,’ ‘biblically-centered,’ ‘rich in history,’ ‘value,’ and more—all words that we are incredibly proud of. We love our company and we want the Barbour name to be front-and-center in everything we do. We have talked a lot about getting ‘Back to Barbour’ and the 40th anniversary seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so.”

In addition to the rebranding efforts, the company will also celebrate the occasion with some anniversary specials for retail customers including huge discounts on the top 40 bestsellers.

For more information about Barbour Publishing, visit the company online at www.BarbourBooks.com.

ABC news anchor Linsey Davis to launch “Stay This Way Forever” book with Good Morning America and The View appearances this week

February 22, 2021 by Sheri Toomb

February 23, 2021, Grand Rapids, Mich. — ABC News anchor and Zonderkidz author Linsey Davis will appear on Good Morning America and The View this week talking about her third children’s book, Stay This Way Forever.

Her interview on Good Morning America is set to air Tuesday, February 23, the day the book releases; and she will appear on The View on Wednesday, February 24.

Inspired by the endearing qualities she sees in her own son, Davis, bestselling author of The World Is Awake and One Big Heart, has written a book that parents, grandparents and caregivers can share with their little ones to let them know how special they are. With charming illustrations from artist Lucy Fleming paired with playful and heartwarming read-aloud rhymes, this book can help make a lasting impact on young minds as they discover their own unique qualities.

“My hope is that readers will enjoy this love letter to our children,” says Davis. “The wide eyes and wild excitement is what so many of us cherish and embrace about these early years. Even as kids grow up, it is my hope that they manage to carry some aspect of this with them…the simplicity, the unbridled freedom and the carefree playground that is childhood.”

‘Your innocent and open heart sees only what is good.
I hope you stay this way forever, long past childhood.’

Linsey Davis is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and ABC News correspondent, hosting ABC News Live and reporting for World News, Good Morning America, 20/20 and Nightline and has been recently named the anchor of Sunday’s ABC World News Tonight. She is also the bestselling author of the children’s books The World is Awake and One Big Heart. Linsey lives in New York with her husband and son, who is her biggest inspiration.

During the 2020 election cycle, Davis was a moderator (her second time) for ABC News’ New Hampshire Democratic Debate and a core member of the anchor team for election day and all eight nights of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. She interviewed newsmakers like Hillary Clinton, VP Mike Pence, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Bill Gates, Camille Cosby, Chasten Buttigieg, and conducted the first roundtable discussion with Black female mayors during the height of racial unrest.

Emily Tobin named marketing director for Zondervan Bibles

February 14, 2021 by Sheri Toomb

Grand Rapids, Mich. (February 10, 2021) – Zondervan today announced Emily Tobin’s promotion to marketing director for its Bibles team, which publishes multiple Bible translations: the New International Version (NIV), New International Reader’s Version (NIrV), New Revised Standard Version (NRSV), New American Standard Bible (NASB), and the Amplified Bible (AMP).

Tobin joined the Zondervan Bibles team two years ago and holds nearly 20 years of digital marketing experience. At Zondervan she has led marketing for the bestselling Beautiful Word™ Bible line, the NIV Verse Mapping Bibles with Kristy Cambron, and has focused on revitalizing the marketing efforts for evergreen Bible products such as the NIV Bible for Teen Girls, which is a top-five ECPA Bible bestseller.

As marketing director, Tobin will lead the strategic marketing efforts for the newly acquired Thompson Chain-Reference® Bible.

“For the past two years, Emily has proven herself to be an effective digital marketer, regularly surpassing industry standards as she employs new strategies to put our Bibles in front of new audiences,” said Melinda Bouma, vice president and publisher of Zondervan Bibles. “Her wealth of experience and proven success make her the clear choice to steward the launch of the Thompson Chain-Reference® Bibles.”

Zondervan, a worldwide leading Christian publisher of books and Bibles, is part of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Inc. Its publications include a variety of Bible translations for all ages; books in different  genres and subject areas for the general reader; curriculum for individual and group Bible study; books for children and young adults; academic resources including textbooks and reference books; ministry resources; and books on faith and culture. Zondervan is based in Grand Rapids, MI.  For more information, visit www.zondervan.com.
