Charisma House releases hopeful message amid sea of doubt by Todd Mullins

February 2, 2025 by Sheri Toomb

Senior Pastor of Christ Fellowship Church Todd Mullins Delivers a Hopeful Message Amid a Sea of Doubt

Lake Mary, Fla. – Todd Mullins urges everyone to take doubt seriously before it disrupts and destroys our lives. Doubt has always been and always will be within us, but whether we choose to let it control us or not is the all-important question.

In his book, Don’t Let Doubt Take You Out (Charisma House, February 11, 2025, ISBN-13: 978-1-63641-434-8), Todd Mullins draws from personal stories and Biblical accounts that seeks to strengthen our confidence in Christ and weaken our confusion in ourselves.

“All it took was one jarring moment on the mountain for me to be in the grip of doubt,” Mullins said.

After a horrific accident on a mountain in Cleveland, Mullins questioned everything about his life: His ability to make decisions, protect his wife, and even believe in God’s promises for their future. It only takes one time for everything you think you know to crumble in front of you.

“While doubt doesn’t have the power to cause bodily injury or death, it does have the power to crush your spirit.”

Doubt is a tool of the enemy—a seed implanted in our minds to distract and divert us away from the truth and God. “If doubt is a seed, then fear is the fruit,” Mullins stated. The fruit of fear is ugly, materializing as insecurity and anxiety. And these fears will continue to bear such ungodly fruit until we secure and believe in our freedom through Jesus Christ.

“I believe with all my heart that God wants to do more in your life than you can hope, think or imagine, but you are going to have to make room,” Mullins said.

God calls His children to increase, expand, and stretch—not to decrease, contract, and withdraw.

Todd Mullins is the senior pastor of Christ Fellowship Church, one of the top ten largest churches in America. Under the leadership of Mullins and his wife, Julie, Christ Fellowship has grown into a multisite congregation that gathers on sixteen campus locations across South Florida, with thousands more joining each week online. Mullins also serves on the lead team of the Association of Related Churches (ARC), a global church-planting organization, and on the board of directors for Place of Hope Children’s Home in South Florida, which cares for children and families in the foster care system. Mullins frequently speaks at churches and conferences around the globe, sharing his mission and vision for impacting the world with the love and message of Jesus Christ.

Author, speaker, podcaster, mom of four Greta Eskridge equips parents for honest conversations about porn

February 2, 2025 by Sheri Toomb

“IT’S TIME TO TALK TO YOUR KIDS ABOUT PORN” RELEASES MARCH 4

New Book Offers Hope and Practical Tips for Parents/Caregivers to Discuss the Prevalence of Porn and Sexual Integrity with Kids from Preschool Through High School in Today’s Digital Age

“It was clear to me that parents, especially moms, weren’t opposed to talking to their kids about pornography. Or listening to me talk about it. But they wanted guidance resources, help and hope. They wanted someone on their team. I was ready to step up and be that person.”
– Greta Eskridge

Author, speaker, podcaster and mom of four, Greta Eskridge, releases It’s Time to Talk to Your Kids About Porn: A Parent’s Guide to Helping Children and Teens Develop Sexual Integrity (Nelson Books, HarperCollins Christian Publishing) March 4, 2025. This must-have book equips parents to have age-appropriate, honest and hope-filled conversations about pornography with kids of any age so that they can help their children develop lifelong sexual integrity. In this book, available to pre-order now wherever books are sold, Eskridge helps parents to navigate those tough conversations and connect with their children to create a safe space for conversation while tackling the toughest topics with confidence.

Raising kids in the digital age comes with many challenges, but one of the biggest currently facing parents is how to navigate the prevalence and accessibility of pornography. Eskridge, mom of four and an unlikely porn fighter, knows that it’s not easy for parents to start a frank conversation about porn. Her book is meant to help parents push through the awkwardness and help them overcome the fear of saying the “wrong” thing or worrying about how to answer uncomfortable questions.

From “A Letter to Parents” at the start of the book that offers a prayer of encouragement for the journey ahead, Eskridge says, “I am so glad you had the courage to pick this book up. I mean, who wants to read a book about porn? Almost no one. Most people shy away from the topic of pornography altogether – when it comes to their kids. But you showed up! And that speaks volumes about your willingness to step into hard places for the sake of protecting your kids.”

Eskridge notes that avoidance is not the solution and offers practical tips, scripts for conversation and a topical resource guide in It’s Time to Talk to Your Kids About Porn. These things will help parents move from fear and frustration to hope and confidence that can support their children in a God-honoring life of sexual health and wholeness. Provided with support and encouragement based on Eskridge’s own experience and personal education, as well as hard facts, current statistics and relevant scripture, readers will:

  • Uncover biblical resources to help kids develop a healthy, God-honoring sexuality
  • Learn principles and action steps to create open, honest dialogue on the prevalence of porn and the importance of sexual integrity
  • Be equipped to lead an appropriate and honest talk for kids from preschool through high school

The user-friendly format is intentional in its approach to help parents address this critically important topic–and is divided into three parts as follows:

  • PART ONE: Why You Need to Talk to Your Kids About Porn
  • PART TWO: How to Talk to Your Kids About Porn
  • PART THREE: The Hardest Questions

Addressing topics like parental controls, safe search practices, media literacy and tech use, Eskridge doesn’t shy away from deeply consequential issues like child exploitation, sex trafficking and porn addiction. Each chapter also concludes with “It’s Time To Reflect” offering thought-provoking and engaging questions for parents to consider and incorporate into their own plan.

“While we know our children will encounter pornography at some point, we pray they will have the strength to turn away when they do. There is no porn-proof bubble we can place them in, but we can give them the knowledge, tools and convictions to stand firm in the fight,” shares Eskridge. “We don’t want to send them into battle unequipped, so we train them, we talk to them, we support them, and we pray for them. We aren’t parenting from a place of fear. Instead, we do all of this to give our kids, and their kids after them, a fighting chance against pornography. It is time to impact the future generations for good. It’s time to parent with hope!”

NetGalley launches major upgrade to Reading Options, including a new proprietary in-browser Reader

February 2, 2025 by Sheri Toomb

Newburyport, MA (January 29, 2024)—NetGalley, LLC—the industry-standard digital galley and marketing platform, and a strategic part of the Firebrand Group collection of companies owned by Media Do International (MD-i)—announced today a major upgrade to its Reading Options, which includes the launch of the new proprietary NetGalley Reader and introduces LCP-protected downloads to the NetGalley platform. The global upgrade is now live across all NetGalley domains in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Japan.

The new NetGalley Reader, built by NetGalley’s in-house engineering team, offers industry-best digital content protection on the web. Utilizing a proprietary digital content protection system designed by seasoned DRM researchers at NetGalley, it combines sophisticated cryptography techniques to lock digital content to specific users and devices, with a front-end UI layer to restrict attackers’ abilities to lift decrypted content from the browser.

Providing a quick and secure reading experience in web browsers with a single click, the NetGalley Reader is the fastest possible way for NetGalley members to start reading their approved books—with no need to leave the NetGalley website, download any files, or use an external device. At launch, the NetGalley Reader supports ePub- and PDF-formatted ebooks. Members will continue to use the free NetGalley Shelf app (iOS and Android) as the exclusive way to listen to audiobooks.

As part of ongoing security efforts, NetGalley has also made adjustments to the “Download” Reading Option, replacing the older Adobe DRM with EDRLab’s Readium Licensed Content Protection (LCP). NetGalley files have been protected with LCP in the NetGalley Shelf app since it was launched in 2020, but with this upgrade, NetGalley members can now download and read files on any LCP-supported device or app.

“We’re committed to making books easily and securely accessible to NetGalley members, however they like to read,” said Firebrand Technologies and NetGalley, LLC Chief Technology Officer Tom Shawver. “This major upgrade expands our Reading Options to allow for a seamless in-browser reading experience, while also strengthening our partnership with EDRLab to offer portable, Readium LCP-protected downloads. We’re thrilled to pull from our extensive experience to create a simple and convenient reading platform for our community, and a first-of-its-kind content protection solution for our publishers.”

Ted Terry, founder of The Noble Marketing Group, dies at 82

February 2, 2025 by Sheri Toomb

Lived A Life Marked By Service to Christ, Publishers, and Booksellers

(January 31, 2025, Tempe, AZ)  Ted H. Terry, whose service to the Christian publishing and bookselling industry dates back more than 60 years, died on Wednesday, January 29 at the age of 82 after an extended illness.

He is survived by his wife, Marietta, four children, 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Teddy Terry, Jr., who managed a Christian bookstore in the Houston area. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. (central) on February 22 at the Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church in Flower Mound, Texas.

Terry was the founder of the Noble Marketing Group, which began its work in April 2001. Booksellers and publishers alike whom he served mourned Terry’s passing, saying that he was more than simply a business associate to them. They routinely spoke of him as a friend, a prayer warrior, an investor in their companies’ success, a pastoral presence, and a father figure.

Terry was born Sayre, Pennsylvania on November 12, 1941, a borough in Bradford County near the New York state line.

He began his work with Christian publishers in 1964 in a sales role with Thomas Nelson Publishers. He later held jobs with W.W. Norton in New York and with the Lee Collins and Associates firm, representing a portfolio of publishers across the country. In 2001, Terry partnered with Dwight Baker, then the president of Baker Publishing Group, to form the Noble Marketing Group, which would serve a host of Christian publishers including Baker, Kregel, David C. Cook, InterVarsity Press, Broadstreet, the Good Book Company and Crossway, among others, at various times.

“Over three decades of continual transitions in book publishing and retailing, Ted Terry never wavered in his loyalty to Christian readers and the companies who serve them best,” Dwight Baker said upon learning of Terry’s passing. “Ted Terry was a friend and colleague and our profession has been richly rewarded by his presence.”

Dave Hill, sales director at Kregel Publications, said, “There will be many fitting and laudatory words and touching memories written and spoken about Ted Terry in the days ahead – and each and every one of them will be welcome reminders of the gracious character and many contributions Ted has made to the publishing industry, to the customers he served, and the many other people who have been touched by his selflessness and generosity throughout his lifetime. I mourn the loss of Ted for all those reasons and many more – but the thing I will miss most is the man who warmly called me his friend.”

Current Baker Publishing Group CEO Jesse Myers added, “Ted Terry was exactly what one looks for in a business partner: diligent, professional, and filled with integrity. But more than that his warmth, compassion, and genuine Christian character will make him truly missed.”

Terry was recognized by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) with the ECPA Chair Award for his service to the industry at its awards banquet in May of 2024.

In presenting the award to Terry, ECPA President Jeff Crosby said, “Some people live to build a resume. Other people devote their lives to writing a testimony. Throughout his career working with books that dates back to 1964 and a sales role with Thomas Nelson Publishers, Ted H. Terry has decidedly built a testimony, as publishers and booksellers alike will readily attest.”

In a tribute piece written by ECPA’s Crosby and published in CRA Today magazine upon Terry’s retirement in 2024, a number of booksellers attested to his impact on their work selling Christian literature. Among them was Kathi Broughton, book buyer at Sower Bible Bookstore in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

“When Ted calls and says he’s coming, we all get very excited as he makes it a celebration for us,” Broughton said. “Ted’s knowledge of the Christian market has been a great help to us, and he is willing to answer our barrage of questions. Both Ted and Marietta are also prayer warriors and have been ones we count on many times. We’ve been immensely blessed to have him as our rep, and we will continue to call him for advice and prayer.”

Marietta Terry, who has worked alongside Ted in service to the Christian products industry, described his passing by saying, “Our hearts are mourning, but our spirits are at peace knowing he is with his blessed Savior.”

Charisma House to release “The Lion’s Army” by Mike Thompson on February 4

January 25, 2025 by Sheri Toomb

Respected Prophet of Word of Life World Outreach Mike Thompson Unravels a Prophetic Vision about End Times

Lake Mary, Fla. – Mike Thompson reveals a powerful vision regarding the final fight between God’s army and Satan’s army. In the form of a lion, Jesus commanded an army of righteous warriors endowed with spiritual power on earth to fight against the devil and defeat his soldiers.

In his book, The Lion’s Army, Mike Thompson provides spiritual guidance to fight against our adversaries (ISBN-13: 978‐1‐63641‐430‐0, Charisma House, February 4, 2025).

“The spiritual realm is just as real as the physical realm,” Thompson said.

The Lion’s Army focuses on the three strategies that the devil and his army are using against our nation as well as the three weapons that God has given us to fight back against them. Thompson’s prophetic vision in 2018 set the stage for what is occurring in the here and now—on our soil—to our people.

“There is a whole new generation of Spirit-filled believers being raised up at this time who need the foundation that was laid by those of us who have learned the ways of the Spirit through decades of experience.”

While The Lion’s Army will first and foremost prepare our hands for spiritual warfare, it will also act as a spiritual guide, teaching all believers the ways of the Holy Spirit. Step-by-step, readers will learn not only how to identify their spiritual creation and makeup, but they will also perceive the voice of God in their lives.

Mike Thompson is a respected prophet and Bible teacher at Word of Life/Mike Thompson Ministries in Las Vegas. New Growth Press to release counselor resource on listening

January 25, 2025 by Sheri Toomb

AVAILABLE MARCH 24, 2025

Learning to Listen offers counselors the biblical principles and core skills necessary to become the active, compassionate listeners counselees need.

Counselors have a high calling to love and care for people who are struggling in a fallen world. A wise biblical counselor draws out the deep attitudes of the heart and encourages their counselees toward growth into the image of Christ. Learning about specific problems, sharing Scripture, and sitting with suffering people are all important parts of counseling. While all of these elements are essential to the counseling task, counseling will ultimately fail without the simple yet vital skill of listening well.

In Learning to Listen, biblical counselor Joseph Hussung gives readers a theology of listening and explains the purpose, posture, and practice of this essential counseling skill. If counselors do not truly hear the hearts of their counselees, they won’t understand the nuanced struggles at play nor how to apply biblical principles. Listening well enables counselors to love well and understand with empathy.

  • Outlines specific practices including sample questions, reflections, affirmation, confrontation, body language, and vocal tone.
  • Offers both a theology of listening and practical application of skills.
  • Learn from Jesus what a listening heart attitude is like.
