Indie bookstore offers positive note after Lifeway store closures

Baker Book House, a premiere independent Christian bookstore in West Michigan, offers a counterpoint to the recent announcement that LifeWay Christian Resources is closing all 170 of its bricks-and-mortar stores. Response to the closings has reverberated with predictions that all Christian bookstores are doomed to close. Baker Book House, however, has seen sales increases for the last 24 out of 26 months, said manager Sue Smith.

Christian Indie Publishing Association (CIPA) is pleased to announce the winning titles for the 2019 Christian Indie Awards. The Christian Indie Awards honor books produced by small publishers and independent authors each year for outstanding contribution to Christian life.  Book lovers and retailers selling Christian products voted on the nominated titles in each of 18 categories.
