Christian books printed in China remain exempt from tariffs
Reported from CT – Christian publishers can breathe a sigh of relief, at least for now, when it comes to the effects of President Donald Trump’s tariffs. Neither reciprocal tariffs on various nations nor tariffs specific to China apply to Bibles and other religious books, according to an April 24 email to Christianity Today from US Customs and Border Protection.

Submissions open for industry’s book design awards
Nominations for the 2025 Top Shelf Book Cover Awards are now being accepted in Non-Fiction, Fiction, Children’s, and Bibles until August 15. The program is open to ECPA members for titles released between June 2024 and August 2025. Winners will be announced at the ECPA PubU Online conference this fall.

ECPA Leadership Summit starts tomorrow: Christian Book Award® winners to be announced
More than 160 executives in Christian publishing will meet in Nashville tomorrow for ECPA’s Leadership Summit for a day and a half of sessions. At the ECPA Awards Celebration held that evening, the winners of the Christian Book Awards will be announced and Pinnacle Awards presented to two legendary authors and ministry leaders: Josh McDowell and Kay Arthur.

Publishing in Color online spring conference starts today
The week-long online conference to grow ethnic diversity in Christian content, called Publishing in Color, launches today with over 20 online sessions and a slate of speakers in Christian publishing. Each registrant receives two appointments with editors/presenters. Scholarships are still available.
