Terumi Echols named President and Publisher of IVP
InterVarsity/USA has named Terumi Echols as president and publisher of InterVarsity Press (IVP). Echols succeeds Jeff Crosby who recently became president and chief executive officer of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA), the trade association of Christian publishing. Before coming to IVP, Echols worked for nearly two decades at Christianity Today International, with roles including chief publishing officer and publisher of Christianity Today. “Terumi Echols was a key contributor and visionary to many, if not most, of the advances InterVarsity Press made during my time as its publisher,” Crosby said. “As IVP’s new president and publisher, she brings vision, a passion for sustained growth, and a deep understanding of the Press’s mission to the university, the church, and the world. I believe very bright days are ahead for IVP under Echols’s leadership.”

ECPA will host a panel of logistics experts, who work every day confronting the challenges in the book supply chain, to discuss the current issues around the supply chain and global crisis, and the best way forward. Held this Thursday, August 19 at 10 am (central) and moderated by ECPA president Jeff Crosby, the panel includes Lisa White, International Transportation Manager at Ingram; Susie Scally, Director of International Sales at Meadows Wye; and David Hetherington, VP of Global Development at Books International. Free for ECPA members.
Registration opens for The Christy Award® and Art of Writing events, Sep. 30 to Oct. 28
Registration is now open for the weekly Art of Writing seminars and the two free webcasts that will announce the finalists and winners for The Christy Award program. The finalists will be announced online on September 30 and the winners via a Gala webcast on October 28. Between those dates, the Art of Writing webinars will be offered each week. The series is $79 and will pull together experts, publishers, and authors around these topics: How to Be a Publishing Team’s Dream Author; Book Promotion Design Principles for Non-Designers; Writing with Authenticity and Intentionality; and Emotional, Spiritual, and Mental Health for Creatives.

Elk Lake Publishing, Inc., authors took home five awards from the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA) Golden Scroll and Christian Market Book Awards August 15, 2021. Christian Market Book Awards were given to Billie Fulton for “One Moment in Time” (third place—Christian Novel of the Year) and to Michele McCarthy for “Aunt Ida Clare” (tied for second--Christian Children’s Fiction Book of the Year).
