Died: author and evangelical feminist Patricia Gundry
CT — Patricia Gundry, an evangelical author who taught that “God was the first feminist,” died on July 31 at age 87. Her first book, “Woman Be Free!” was published by Zondervan in 1977 and CT listed it as one of the books with the greatest influence on American evangelicals since World War II. Gundry is survived by her husband Stan and their children.

Christian bestseller lists posted for August
ECPA has released the monthly Christian bestseller lists for August 2024 in 15 categories. The top-selling book is “Forgiving What You Can’t Forget” by Lysa TerKeurst (Thomas Nelson) with “Practicing the Way” by John Mark Comer (WaterBrook) and “The Five Love Languages” by Gary Chapman (Moody Publishers) coming in at #2 and #3.
Christian fiction community to gather at Art of Writing, held between PubU & Christy Gala
The annual ECPA Art of Writing conference returns for Christian fiction authors, publishers, and writers, as the precursor for The Christy Award Winners Gala held on November 14 in Chicago. Four afternoon seminars, held after PubU and free for PubU registrants, will feature publishers, agents, and authors talking about today’s Christian fiction market and best practices.
