HarperCollins Christian Publishing’s Gift division names Jennifer Gott v-p and publisher
HarperCollins Christian Publishing (HCCP) has announced Jennifer Gott as vice president and publisher for its Gift division, which operates Thomas Nelson Gift and Zondervan Gift. In this role, Gott will oversee the Gift division's product pipeline, which includes acquisition, title development, and overall strategy for beautiful, high-design products in the areas of devotionals, lifestyle, guided journals, poetry, and seasonal books.

New ECPA president Jeff Crosby to lead session at C-Suite Symposium: Early bird rates end Friday
The top leaders in Christian publishing will gather in person for the ECPA C-Suite Symposium on September 19-21 in Tucson, Arizona. The conference theme is, “What Comes Next?” and will include a session with new ECPA president Jeff Crosby on “What Comes Next for ECPA,” along with and featured speakers Alicia Llewellyn and Nicholas Skytland, co-authors of the new book, What Comes Next? Shaping the Future in an Ever-Changing World—A Guide for Christian Leaders. The two-day program also features sessions with NPD’s Kristen McLean, Biola’s Michael Pierce, and Al Lopus with Best Christian Workplaces Institute, along with round tables and panel discussions around legal issues, reader engagement, and more. ECPA member C-suite executives are invited to register by Friday to save the most.

Last month for Top Shelf Book Cover Award submissions
The deadline to nominate book and Bible designs to the industry’s Top Shelf Book Cover Award program is August 31. The program celebrates the year’s best book designs in Christian publishing and is judged each year by top designers. Submissions are accepted until the end of the month for books or Bibles released for public sale between June 2020 and August 2021. Winners will be announced on November 12 during the ECPA PubU Online conference.

Thomas Nelson announces a first printing of one million units for New York Times bestselling author Sarah Young’s new book, “Jesus Listens: Daily Devotional Prayers of Peace, Joy, and Hope” (October 5, 2021). “Jesus Listens” is the first devotional in the Jesus Calling® product line to feature prayers written by Sarah Young from the reader’s perspective to strengthen their relationship with Jesus.

W Publishing Group, an imprint of Thomas Nelson, has announced that “Praying Through Cancer: A 90-Day Devotional for Women,” by Susan Sorensen and the late Laura Geist, has sold more than 100,000 copies in print and digital formats. On August 10, the book—which debuted in 2006—will release again, honoring the memory of Geist who passed in 2012, and introducing the time-honored content to a new generation of readers.
