The Christy Award® fall events to feature director & creator of 'The Chosen' series, Dallas Jenkins
ECPA has announced the online program for The Christy Award® which include webcasts announcing the finalists and winners of the industry’s top award for Christian fiction. Dallas Jenkins, famed director and creator of ‘The Chosen’ series, will be the featured speaker in the Christy Award Gala webcast on October 28, which will also include Book of the Year author Amanda Dykes (Whose Waves These Are), bestselling author Chris Fabry as emcee, and tributes to the literary contributions of the late Walter Wangerin, Jr., by bestselling author Philip Yancey, author/playwright Pete Peterson, and more.
The Art of Writing webinar series will tackle both tough and practical topics for Creatives and Writers around mental health, writing authentically outside one’s experience, and more.
Lifeway welcomes Kim Massey as new chief marketing officer
Lifeway Christian Resources announced the appointment of Kim Massey as its new chief marketing officer. “Kim brings a wealth of marketing expertise that will be invaluable to Lifeway in this new season of ministry and as we continue to lift up our new brand,” said Lifeway President and CEO Ben Mandrell. “Her proven experience in designing successful digital strategies and in global leadership will be a huge asset to Lifeway.”
Lexham Press launches Children’s books line
Beginning in early 2022, Lexham Press will publish their first children’s books, launching the FatCat series. The first title, "The Apostles’ Creed: For All God’s Children," will release in February 2022. This full-color illustrated book will inspire children aged 4-8 to understand and delight in the church’s ancient confession of faith.

Daisy Hutton of Hachette Nashville and Peter Cerra of Editorial Portavoz, have been elected to a three-year term on the ECPA board of directors, retroactive to May of 2021. Hutton is the Vice President and Publisher of Hachette Nashville. Daisy joined Hachette Book Group in late 2019 to oversee publishing for the Hachette Nashville group of imprints, including CenterStreet, FaithWords, and Worthy Publishing. Cerra serves as senior director of sales and marketing of Editorial Portavoz, the Spanish publishing division of Kregel Publications. Peter also serves as president of the Spanish Evangelical Products Association (SEPA).
Nomination period for Top Shelf Book Cover Award program ends tomorrow
ECPA publishers are invited to nominate their best book and Bible designs to the Top Shelf Book Cover Award program. Submissions are accepted until August 31 for books or Bibles released for public sale between June 2020 and August 2021. Winners will be announced on November 12 at the close of the upcoming PubU Online conference.

"Near: Psalm 139" chosen as Best Children's Picture Book by TGC
The Gospel Coalition (TGC) recently selected books for its Editor’s Choice list for fall of 2021, and "Near" (Zonderkidz 2021) was picked as a Best Children’s Picture Book. The book, authored by Sally Lloyd-Jones and illustrated by Jago, is based on Psalm 139 and conveys that God is with little ones anywhere they go in God’s wide world, offering a reassuring message to calm fears and stir faith.
