Early bird registration opens for ECPA PubU Online: Training for the Christian publishing professional this fall
ECPA will present PubU Online this fall, featuring daily webinars and networking meet-ups from October 27 to November 13. Publishing professionals can customize their training amidst six publishing tracks, developed by industry leaders, in: Marketing, Editorial, Design, Production & Operations, Children’s Books, and Rights. Early bird rates are only $109 for a full access pass, including recordings.

Christian bestseller lists posted for August
ECPA has released the monthly Christian bestseller lists for August 2023 in 15 categories based on Circana BookScan sales for the month of July. The top-selling book is “The 5 Love Languages” by Gary Chapman (Moody Publishers) with “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young (Thomas Nelson) coming in at #2. New to the bestsellers list this month and coming in at #3 is “Raised to Stay” by Natalie Runion (David C Cook).
ECPA presents webinar this Friday on Nonprofit Law and Publishing
Attorneys Jonathan McCants and Brian Flagler will present a Nonprofit Law Primer webinar this Friday for ECPA members on Key Topics for Ministries and Publishers Doing Business with Nonprofits. Aspects of most resources published by ECPA houses are regulated by laws governing nonprofits – and all religious organizations, for- and non-profit, face increasing scrutiny concerning their freedom to make decisions based on sincerely held religious beliefs.
Last week for Book Cover Award entries
The entry deadline for the Top Shelf Book Cover Awards, recognizing excellence in book cover design, is next week Aug. 15. All eligible books or Bibles must be originally published by an ECPA member and released for public sale between June 2022 – August 2023. Entries can be entered in four categories: Nonfiction, Fiction, Children, and Bibles. Discounts available for 10+ entries.

Scientist and author Tom Rudelius on Jesus Calling Podcast, Aug. 10
Tom Rudelius is a scientist who began studying the mysteries of the universe long before he would ever have questions about the God of the Universe. He recently joined The Jesus Calling Podcast to share how his twin brother, who had recently become a Christian, encouraged him to explore his faith; so Tom pursued the truth of the Gospel, very much like he pursued scientific truths, and was amazed by what he found.
