New round of tariffs suspended
Publishers Weekly: With the Trump administration reaching what it calls a “phase one” trade agreement with China on Friday, Washington has suspended new tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on December 15. The new tariffs would have affected products including a range of children’s books that were excluded from the tariffs that began September 1 and which cover all adult books printed in China, with the exception of Bibles and religious books.

Bunmi Laditan signs contract with Zondervan
Novelist and social media star Bunmi Laditan (Confessions of a Domestic Failure) has signed a new contract with Zondervan Books. Her new book—Dear God: Honest Prayers to a God Who Listens—features a collection of letters, poems, and prayers written by Laditan to God while praying and wrestling with her faith. Zondervan executive editor Carolyn McCready took world rights from Holly Bemiss of the Susan Rabiner Literary Agency. Dear God is scheduled for publication in January 2021.
