Dr. R.C. Sproul called home to the Lord
Dr. R.C. Sproul went home to be with the Lord on December 14th around 3 p.m. surrounded by his wife, Vesta, and family in his hospital room in Altamonte Springs, Fla. He was 78. He died peacefully after being hospitalized twelve days ago due to severe respiratory difficulties exacerbated by the flu and complicated by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Christianity Today chooses ‘Liturgy of the Ordinary’ for 2018 Book of the Year
InterVarsity Press received seven Christianity Today 2018 Book Awards, including the top honor for book of the year that went to 'Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life' by Tish Harrison Warren. Selected by Christianity Today editors as the title that “best embodies our pursuit of Beautiful Orthodoxy,” 'Liturgy of the Ordinary' was also the winner in the spiritual formation category of the 2018 Book Awards.

Christianity Today recently announced the winners of their 2018 Book Awards. Baker Publishing Group won the top award in three categories. 'The Day the Angels Fell' by Shawn Smucker won in the Children and Youth category, 'The Tech-Wise Family' by Andy Crouch received top honors in the Christian Living/Discipleship category, and 'Engaging Globalization' by Bryant L. Myers won in the Missions/Global Church category. In addition, three Baker publications won Awards of Merit.

Sparkhouse Family is pleased to announce the winner of the second annual Sparkhouse Family Children’s Picture Book Contest. 'Antonino’s Impossible Dream' tells the story of a young painter who struggles to capture one of his dreams on canvas, until a new friend helps him and together they achieve new things. Author Tim McGlen is a member of SCBWI and teaches upper elementary at a Montessori school in Florida, where his sixth graders read weekly with their kindergarten reading buddies.

Zondervan signs multi-book deal with Lisa Leonard, founder of Lisa Leonard Designs
Zondervan announced today a five-book contract with Lisa Leonard, including two trade books, a devotional, a four-color gift book and a four-color children’s book. Leonard is the founder and creative director of Lisa Leonard Designs. She started making jewelry as a hobby-business and together with her husband Steve, built it into a multi-million-dollar company that today employs more than 200 people in four countries. Leonard is represented by Lisa Jackson of Alive Agency and world rights were acquired by Zondervan acquisitions editor Carolyn McCready.
