David C Cook names Christian entertainment veteran Bill Reeves new CEO
Amid celebrating three wins at the 54th GMA Dove Awards and two consecutive seasons with titles on USA Today’s Best-selling Booklist, Christian publisher and music company David C Cook announced today that Bill Reeves will serve as the ministry’s new CEO.

On March 18-20, 2024 the ECPA rights and licensing community will meet for the European Christian Rights Fair (ECRF) in Krakow, Poland. ECRF is put on each year by ECPA, in conjunction with CLC International, to bring the global Christian publishing community together with a focus on Eastern Europe. PubU Online curriculum available until Jan. 31 for all who register before Dec.13
ECPA PubU Online concluded last month with more than 40 sessions, meet-ups, and master classes in six publishing tracks for Christian publishing professionals. Session recordings are available until January 31 for all who register by December 13, so it’s not too late to register and have access to one of the strongest training programs ever presented in editorial, marketing, rights, design, production & operations, and children’s books. A huge shoutout to the Brain Trust, who recruited 60+ industry leaders serving as faculty and presenters. Additionally, nearly 30 leaders were matched with this year’s class of emerging leaders for mentorship.
ECPA welcomes new affiliate publisher
ECPA recently welcomed Ave Maria Press as an affiliate publisher, a new non-voting classification recently approved by the ECPA board of directors. Ave Maria Press is committed to helping people know, love, and serve God and to spreading the gospel of Jesus through books and other resources.
BMI launches online community; offers public access
The Book Manufacturers’ Institute (BMI) has launched an online community called BMI Connect. Although a portion of the community is locked to only BMI members, they have invited any and all members of the publishing industry to join the community to ask questions of printers and suppliers, and anetwork with those in the book manufacturing space. BMI Connect can be accessed via https://connect.bmibook.com/.
ECPA Career Center accepting summer intern posts: free for members
ECPA members are invited to post their summer intern opportunities on the ECPA Career Center for free. The ECPA Open Door Intern program connects Christian students of color with your intern opportunities – and will provide webinar programming about the Christian publishing industry this summer. “Elisabeth Elliot” by Lucy S. R. Austen wins WORLD Magazine Award; three receive honorable mention
Crossway is pleased to announce that "Elisabeth Elliot: A Life" by Lucy S. R. Austen was one of two biographies to win a 2023 WORLD Magazine Books of the Year award. Three other Crossway titles were awarded honorable mention in this year’s awards: "A Praying Church" by Paul E. Miller, "Digital Liturgies" by Samuel D. James, and "Five Lies of Our Anti-Christian Age" by Rosaria Butterfield.
