ECPA to honor Stan Gundry with industry's Lifetime Achievement Award
On behalf of the Christian publishing industry, ECPA announced today that they will present the Kenneth N. Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award to STAN N. GUNDRY, Senior Vice President & Publisher and Editor-in-Chief for HarperCollins Christian Publishing (HCCP), for his 40+ year impact on Christian publishing.
ECPA will present the award at the ECPA Awards Celebration held in conjunction with the ECPA Leadership Summit, May 5-6 in Nashville.
AAP President Maria Pallante to give address on censorship at upcoming ECPA Leadership Summit
AAP president Maria Pallante will address industry leadership at the upcoming ECPA Leadership Summit, held May 5-6 in Nashville, on “Navigating Your Content in a Censored World.” In a program focused on how publishing continues to shape the future of evangelicalism, content and engagement – Pallante joins a strong line-up of presenters that include: NAE president Dr. Walter Kim; missiologist and professor Dr. Allen Yeh; scholar and writer Karen Swallow Prior; Director for Sacred Sector at the Center for Public Justice Chelsea Langston Bombino; and NPD’s Executive Director of Business Development Kristen McLean.
Executive teams in Christian publishing encouraged to register by March 20 to save the most.

Submission period for industry’s Christian Fiction Award to open March 1st
Nominations for The Christy Award® will be accepted March 1-31 in nine fiction categories: General; Contemporary Romance; Historical Romance; Historical; Mystery/ Suspense/Thriller; Visionary; First Novel; Young Adult; and Short Format. Submissions are open to works of fiction written from a Christian worldview, published traditionally or independently from March 2019 to March 2020. Submitting publishers do not need to be members of ECPA.

Registration opens for Publishing in Color, June 1-3 in New Jersey
Publishing in Color has opened registration for their June event, held at Drew University Theological School in Madison, New Jersey on June 1-3. Publishing in Color conferences foster relationships between writers of color and representatives from the spiritual publishing industry. The conference will emphasize networking, relationship building, and learning “how to get published.” Featured keynote speakers are Patricia Raybon and Sophfronia Scott.

Events draw crowds to Baker Book House, the largest independent Christian bookstore
Baker Book House, the largest independent Christian bookstore in North America, drew crowds to its event space as an offsite viewing location for the popular January Series hosted by Calvin University, located in Grand Rapids. In addition, the bookstore is hosting Prologue Writer Nights, a free, monthly program for writers.
