ECPA Announces Retirement of President Jeff Crosby
Board Initiates Search for Successor
Chicago, Ill., April 30, 2026 — The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) has announced that President Jeff Crosby will retire from his role on April 30, 2027, concluding five and a half years of dedicated leadership.
“Serving ECPA since July of 2021 has been one of the greatest honors of my career,” said Crosby. “I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such committed members, partners, and staff who are passionate about the mission of Christian publishing. I leave confident in the strength of this community and its future, and I look forward to supporting a smooth and thoughtful transition in the months ahead.”
Prior to joining ECPA, Crosby had owned and operated a Logos Bookstore in Bloomington, Indiana, served as executive director of the Association of Logos Bookstores and was a vice president at Ingram Christian Resources in LaVergne, Tennessee. Between 1998 and joining ECPA in 2021, he served in executive roles at InterVarsity Press.
During his tenure, Crosby led ECPA through a period of meaningful growth and innovation. His leadership included navigating the effects of the pandemic, mentoring professionals and companies across the industry, expanding ECPA’s international reach through the launch of rights fairs in Asia and Brazil, and advancing engagement with emerging technologies through AI-focused programming and the quarterly ECPA AI Expert series. He also oversaw membership growth, introduced a new Bestsellers platform, and helped ensure ECPA remained a vital resource for companies responding to changing reader demographics and seeking to broaden their talent pipelines.
Scott Mathews, CEO of Tyndale House Publishers and Chair of the ECPA Board of Directors, expressed appreciation for Crosby’s leadership. “Jeff has served ECPA with wisdom, grace, and integrity. One of his greatest strengths is building relationships, whether it is with publishers, affiliate members, sponsors, or speakers. His commitment to the mission of ECPA has strengthened the publishing community, and I am grateful for his contributions to our industry over his decades of service.”
Crosby plans to remain in the Christian publishing industry in a part-time capacity, and plans to stay connected to ECPA through an alumni membership.
The ECPA Board has initiated a national search for its next president. The Executive Committee of the Board will serve as the search committee, overseeing a thoughtful and comprehensive process to identify the organization’s next leader.
A detailed job description for the position will be posted on ECPA’s Career Center. Interested candidates and referrals are encouraged to review the posting and submit materials as outlined.
Additional updates regarding the leadership transition will be shared as appropriate.
