Christian fiction publishers and authors to gather this fall in Chicago
Christy Award Winners Gala and Art of Writing seminars will be held on November 14. Early bird registration is now open.
May 16, 2024, Tempe, AZ – The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) has announced the program for THE CHRISTY AWARD® events that include an afternoon of publisher-driven seminars on Christian fiction writing, and the winners gala that evening. Both events follow the industry’s annual event, ECPA Publishing University, for Christian publishers.

Hosted by Christy Hall of Fame author Chris Fabry, the Christy Award Winners Gala will be held Thursday, November 14th at 7pm CT to recognize the finalists and announce the winners of The Christy Award in nine categories, along with the Book of the Year and the Amplify Award for Christian Fiction.
The event will feature award-winning speculative author, and Christy Hall of Fame inductee, Sharon Hinck (Dream of Kings, Enclave Publishing) and 2023 Book of the Year author Amanda Barratt (Within These Walls of Sorrow, Kregel Publications). Award presenters will include 2023 Christy winning authors Sara Brunsvold, Laura Frantz, Elizabeth Goddard, Kristi Ann Hunter, Anna Rose Johnson, Linda MacKillop, Katie Powner, and Sara Watterson.
Leading up to the Gala on the 14th, an afternoon of seminars will be presented as the Art of Writing conference which will bring together writers, creatives, and publishing curators for training and connection around Christian fiction writing. The events follow the publisher training event, ECPA PubU, held November 13-14, at the same location.
On November 15, attendees are invited to extend their love of Christian fiction by staying over for the author and reader fiction conference, JustRead Rendezvous, held at the same hotel. (Those who register for The Christy Award events can receive a discount on JustRead Rendevous registration.)
The Christy Award finalists will be revealed in a free webcast on Thursday, September 12 at 11 am central with radio announcer, and award-winning author Chris Fabry and ECPA president Jeff Crosby.
