TEMPE, ARIZ., SEPTEMBER 7, 2021 – ECPA’s virtual event, PubU Online, will deliver targeted, accessible training and connection for the industry this November in the following tracks, developed and curated by industry leaders who make up the PubU Online Brain Trust.
November 3: CHILDREN’S BOOK SUMMIT
November 5: MASTER CLASSES
November 8: MARKETING TRACK
November 9: DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION TRACK
November 10: EDITORIAL TRACK

For the early bird rate of $109, attendees will receive an all-access pass to the full conference so they can customize their schedule and training. Each track will meet on one designated day and will include at least four sessions and two networking mixers to connect and gather publishing professionals in similar roles. The conference will be hosted on the Whova platform so that attendees can easily connect with each other and access content, forums, and recordings.
For the first time, PubU will include a special day-long Children’s Christian Book Summit, a series of five webinars held on November 3rd. Children’s experts and publishers will discuss:
- Christian Children’s Market Trend Report and Forecast with NPD
- Creating Editorial Content for Children’s Books
- Effective Illustration and Design for Children
- Diversity and Inclusion in Children’s Literature
- The Spiritual Development of Children
ECPA continues its commitment to the industry’s Emerging Leaders with the PubU Emerging Leader scholarship and mentorship program – for those newer to the industry who come from ethnicities that have traditionally been under-represented in Christian publishing. The program includes full PubU Online access for only $49, mentorship opportunities, and special forums.
Publishers are encouraged to nominate a colleague — or candidates can nominate themselves — before the deadline of September 24.
“Throughout its history, ECPA’s PubU has equipped and encouraged scores of publishing professionals in a variety of disciplines and organizational levels through engaging content and the opportunity to get to know their peers at other member houses,” Jeff Crosby, ECPA president, said. “Randall Payleitner and Jerri Helms have assembled a seasoned and creative group of track leaders who recruited session instructors to teach on a range of publishing topics that are both timely and timeless.”
“I strongly encourage our member publishers to nominate newer or younger staff for our Emerging Leaders scholarship and mentorship program, and to ensure staff explore the new Children’s Christian Book Summit. This year’s online program is rich in content and practical application.”
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR ECPA MEMBERS UNTIL OCTOBER 1st.
The latest event schedule, list of sessions and speakers, and registration, are available at ECPAPubU.org.
