Dan Baker, Baker Book House Company COO, to retire in September
Dan Baker, Chief Operating Officer for Baker Book House Company, has announced his decision to retire in early September. He will continue to remain engaged in active ownership and board involvement.
Dan served on the ECPA board of directors from 2016 to 2022, and held positions on its Executive Committee as Treasurer and on the Research Committee as Chair.
Jana Zachman promoted to COO of David C Cook
David C Cook recently announced the promotion of Jana Zachman to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Building on her 20 years of experience with the ministry, in her new role Zachman will oversee business and ministry operations for the 148-year-old Colorado-based publishing company, and will lead the Finance, IT, and Warehouse and Distribution divisions.

The entry deadline for the Top Shelf Book Cover Awards, recognizing excellence in book cover design, is now weeks away on Aug. 15. All eligible books and Bibles must be originally published by an ECPA member and released between June 2022 and August 2023. Submissions can be entered in four categories: Nonfiction, Fiction, Children, and Bibles.
IPG adds six new publishers to its US and UK sales and distribution programs
Independent Publishers Group (IPG) is pleased to announce it has signed six new publishers to its US and UK distribution programs. Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company and IPG have expanded their existing relationship to include international print sales and distribution.
MTI launches Introduction to Magazine Publishing online course series
A new Introduction to Magazine Publishing course introduced in Africa in 2019 will for the first time be available online, according to Magazine Training International (MTI). The 20-week course will be offered as a series of three six-to-eight week online courses beginning this fall.

ECPA presents a Platinum and Bronze Milestone Sales Awards to industry titles
ECPA recently presented the PLATINUM AWARD to Tyndale House Publishers recognizing the NLT Premium Gift Bible for selling more than 1 million units. The BRONZE AWARD was presented to NavPress’ Unwanted by Jay Stringer, for achieving more than 100,000 sold.
