Rob Moll, author and editor, dies at forty-one

Rob Moll, author of "The Art of Dying" and "What Your Body Knows About God," has died at the age of forty-one. Leaving behind his wife and four young children, Moll will be remembered as a talented writer and editor as well as a beloved friend.

IVP announces personnel changes for future growth and initiatives

Over the past two fiscal years IVP has seen a 27 percent increase in sales. In preparation for continued sales increases and new initiatives, IVP has announced a number of personnel changes that will contribute to its ongoing growth and vision.

Quad, LSC Call Off Merger

Publishers Weekly — Quad and LSC Communications have mutually agreed to call off the planned purchase of LSC by Quad. The deal would have united the country’s two largest printers. The purchase was scheduled to be completed this October, but the Department of Justice sued to stop the merger.

Songwriter, musician, author Andrew Peterson to inspire publishing professionals at ECPA PubU

JUST ANNOUNCED: Songwriter, musician, author ANDREW PETERSON will open the program of ECPA PubU, held November 5-6 at Lipscomb University in Nashville, with a plenary session on “The Mystery of Making: Our Call to Creativity as Christian Publishers.” He joins LYSA TERKEURST — who closes the program with her keynote on “Reaching the Heart of Readers” — and more than 50 other presenters leading sessions for Christian publishing professionals in six publishing tracks. The top leaders in Christian publishing will gather September 22-24 in Boston for the industry’s annual C-Suite Symposium to focus on the theme, “Anticipating the Future.” Speakers include Skot Welch (Global Bridgebuilders), Michele Cobb (Audio Publishers Association), Nancy Beach (SlingShot Group), Jon Frendl (Cappital), Matt Baehr (Book Manufacturers Institute), Don Bergen (Lindenmeyr), and more. Call for Nominations for Top Shelf Book Cover Awards: Judges named

The Top Shelf Book Cover Award program is now accepting online submissions for the 2019 program until August 31. Each nomination is only $59 so that publishers can submit as many of their top book cover designs as possible. Each year, a prestigious team of judges is recruited to review the industry’s submissions and choose the best designs. This year’s judges are renowned designers Dana Tanamachi, Jason Ramirez, and Richard Ljoenes.
