ECPA Christian Collective at London Book Fair taking immediate reservations
If you are interested in participating in the Christian Collective at the 2018 London Book Fair, contact ECPA right away at chelblig@ecpa.org. The 2018 London Book Fair is scheduled for April 10-12 at Olympia in West London. By sponsoring the ECPA Christian Collective exhibit space, ECPA handles all logistical and administrative services, so that members can focus their time on selling/buying rights at this important international publishing event. Space reservations for exhibiting and meeting will end soon.

ECPA announces speakers for C-Suite Symposium: Maria Pallante and James K.A. Smith
ECPA has announced that Maria A. Pallante, President and CEO of AAP and former United States Register of Copyrights and Director of the U.S. Copyrights Office will keynote the 2017 ECPA C-Suite Symposium. In addition, James K.A. Smith, author of You Are What You Love and philosophy professor at Calvin College will present. The industry’s event for top executives in Christian publishing will meet this year on September 24-26 in Asheville, North Carolina. Registration is now open for ECPA members.

American and German foundations join Crisis Publishing Initiative as sponsors
Magazine Training International (MTI) is pleased to announce new partnerships with co-sponsor Tyndale House Foundation and contributing sponsor Stiftung Christliche Medien, as they join the Crisis Publishing Initiative. The Crisis Publishing Initiative conference will be held on Oct. 15-18, 2017, at the Hotel Lövér in Sopron, Hungary. The Initiative is for Christians in publishing on the front lines, as they seek to find the truth in chaotic situations and publish the information their readers need in order to respond to crises as those called to be light and salt in a fractured world.

Barbour Publishing is pleased to announce that Annie Tipton, Senior Acquisitions Editor, has been named a finalist in ACFW’s 2017 Editor of the Year contest. Tipton has worked at Barbour Publishing for over 11 years and started acquiring the company’s full-length fiction in March 2013.

Brazos Press signs best-selling author and activist Shane Claiborne for a book on America’s gun violence epidemic
Brazos Press, a division of Baker Publishing Group, has signed noted activist Shane Claiborne for a book that offers a Christian response to America’s gun violence crisis. Claiborne will coauthor Beating Guns: A Book for People Who Are Tired of Violence with Mike Martin, founder and executive director of RAWtools, a nonprofit organization that repurposes guns into hand tools—taking literally the biblical injunction to beat weapons into plows. The book is expected to release in Fall, 2018.
