Lysa TerKeurst to keynote ECPA PubU, held Nov. 5-6 in Nashville
ECPA announces the 2019 program for the industry’s annual Publishing University, known as ECPA PubU. The premiere training and networking event for Christian publishing professionals will be held Nov. 5-6 at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, and will feature New York Times bestselling author, Proverbs 31 President, and COMPEL Training founder, Lysa TerKeurst. More than 40 sessions will be offered in six publishing tracks: Editorial, Digital Marketing, Design, Reader Engagement & Publicity, Data/Delivery/Workflow — plus a new track of sessions for “Emerging Leaders” designed to help onboard professionals new to the industry. The new Brain Trust committee of publishing leaders developing the program have been named and registration is now open.
NavPress author Jessie Minassian named official associate at Focus on the Family
NavPress author Jessie Minassian has been formally named an Associate by Focus on the Family, the Colorado-based global Christian ministry dedicated to helping families thrive. In this role, Minassian will be partnering with Focus to create new content on a variety of platforms. She will continue to live in California and work with LifeLoveandGod.com.

Milestones
David Moberg presented with ECPA Chair Award
In honor of his 45 years of creative and influential service to Christian publishing, David Moberg, SVP of Publishing for HCCP and outgoing ECPA board vice-chair, was presented the ECPA Chair Award at the Christian Book Award celebration banquet during Leadership Summit. The inscription on the Award, written by ECPA board chair Byron Williamson, concludes with these words: David Moberg has become one of the most beloved and respected book publishing leaders in our industry’s history. We are profoundly grateful for his decades of extraordinary service to Christian publishing.
Elk Lake Publishing authors win Selah Awards
Elk Lake Publishing Inc is pleased to announce Selah Award winning authors: Megan Whitson Lee for Dangerous to Know (historical/Biblical fiction); and Shelley Pierce for Battle Buddies (middle-grade fiction). The awards were presented at the recent Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference (BRMCWC). In addition, authors Billie Fulton took second place in the historical/Biblical fiction category with Faith Is Not Silent, and Deb DeArmond received an honorable mention for her yet unpublished novel, Taking the Long Way Home. Two other Elk Lake authors were finalists: Clarice G. James for Manhattan Grace (contemporary fiction) and Beckie Lindsey for Uninvited (young adult fiction).

Speaker, podcast hosts and authors Dr. Josh and Christi Straub were featured guests May 30 on the Hallmark Channel’s Emmy award-winning daytime show “Home & Family.” Co-hosts Cameron Mathison and Debbie Matenopoulos interviewed the Straubs about their recently-released debut kids book “What Am I Feeling?” (March 2019, B&H Publishing) and the importance of raising emotionally-healthy kids. The show aired on May 30 on the Hallmark Channel.

Tebow originally connected with Chris after a life-altering football injury gave him a three percent chance of moving anything below the neck again.
