Tyndale House Publishers awarded patent for groundbreaking Filament Bible App
Tyndale House Publishers, a leader in developing Bibles and Bible translations that are accessible and understandable, has been awarded a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the technology underlying its Filament Bible Collection. The invention protected by the patent deals with connecting print products to related digital content through recognizing page numbers.

Nominations for The Christy Award are accepted now through March 31st in nine fiction categories. Nominations to a category can opt to be considered for the Christy Own Voice Award, provided it meets the stated criteria. All submissions are open to works of fiction written from a Christian worldview, published traditionally or independently from March 2020 to March 2021.

ECPA to offer virtual Leadership Summit in two parts: Practicums and Thought Leadership
The first week of the ECPA Leadership Summit, held online April 27-29, will focus on PRACTICUMS, and include a presentation from NPD Group’s Kristen McLean on reading and book trends with a focus on opportunities for the Christian publisher. Panels and presentations that week will focus on Growing Online Sales Channels, Global Printing and Distribution, and more. The second week will convene May 4-6, and will open with a keynote from author Tod Bolsinger on “Resilient Leadership” with THOUGHT LEADERSHIP panels discussing topics of immense importance to our industry: Being Evangelical in this Cultural Moment; The Future of Publishing; and Serving the Church. The conference will conclude with a Town Hall Member Meeting and the annual ECPA Awards Celebration, featuring the Christian Book Awards®.

CEO Cris H. Doornbos to retire from David C Cook
David C Cook announced today that Cris H. Doornbos will retire in August after almost 16 years as the organization’s CEO. David C Cook’s board of trustees has appointed COO Scott Miller to serve as interim CEO, effective April 2. Doornbos, a 38-year veteran of the Christian communication and publishing industry, will continue to be employed by David C Cook as a consultant until August 16 when he turns 65.

The executive search firm CarterBaldwin, which specializes in serving Christian ministries, assisted the THM Board of Directors in identifying Tyndale’s next CEO, considering both internal and external candidates.

ECPA presents Milestone Sales Awards to two industry titles
ECPA recently presented the following Milestone Sales Awards to the following books and publishers for their recent sales achievements:
- Get Out of Your Head by Jennie Allen (WaterBrook) received the GOLD AWARD for over 500,000 sold
- Canoeing the Mountains by Tod Bolsinger (InterVarsity Press) received the BRONZE AWARD for over 100,000 sold
The ECPA Milestone Sales Award program provides the opportunity to recognize sales milestones of 100,000, 500,000, 1 million and 10 million.

Compassion International announces the FAITHFUL livestream event
Earlier this year it was announced that the ministries of Compassion International, David C Cook, and Integrity Music are releasing the FAITHFUL Project, a collaborative project encapsulating a book, music, and livestream event. The album, FAITHFUL: Go and Speak, is slated to drop April 30, the FAITHFUL book will release May 1, and tickets are now on sale for the FAITHFUL Livestream event to be held Saturday, May 1.
