Revell celebrates the life of Dr. David Stoop

Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group, announces the passing of bestselling author Dr. David Stoop on March 10, 2021, at the age of 83. Dr. Stoop was the founder and director of the Center for Family Therapy and served as a psychologist and family counselor for more than thirty-five years. His passion for helping families was clearly demonstrated in his practice; on the nationally syndicated radio and TV program, New Life Live; on his blog, Marriage and Family Matters; and within the pages of his numerous books.

NavPress names new publisher; strengthens focus on resourcing disciplemakers

For more than eighty years, The Navigators has championed knowing Christ, making Him known, and helping others do the same. NavPress is renewing its focus on the ministry’s mission of training and encouraging disciplemakers in all walks of life. David Zimmerman has been appointed as the new publisher to direct NavPress in support of that mission.

PRH and Hachette leaders to discuss Future of Publishing in ECPA Leadership Summit forum

The ECPA Leadership Summit is the only conference addressing the most relevant topics for Christian publishing leaders and will be held as daily webinars and breakouts on April 27-29 and May 4-6. Presenters include thought leaders and experts from multiple areas to guide our conversations. The May 5th morning session on “The Future of Publishing in this Cultural Moment” will feature Madeline McIntosh, CEO of Penguin Random House U.S.; Tina Constable, EVP & Publisher of Waterbrook, Multnomah, Convergent, Image and Forum; Michael Pietsch, Chief Executive Officer of Hachette Book Group; and Daisy Hutton, Vice President and Publisher of Hachette Nashville. Other speakers include thought leaders David French (The Dispatch), Kristen McLean (NPD), Tod Bolsinger (Church Leadership Institute), Thom Rainer (Church Answers), Walter Kim (NAE), Nicole Martin (ABS), Timothy Dalrymple (CT) and more. Zondervan’s MasterLectures reaches the 100th video course milestone

Zondervan, a division of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, today announced that the one hundredth video course is now available on its streaming video platform, MasterLectures. Urim Books prepares to meet increased audiobook demand in South Korea

The South Korean audiobook market has been showing signs of growth ever since COVID-19 broke out in last February, which led to an increase in the amount of time people spend indoors. As South Korea’s market for audiobooks expands, a leading Christian publisher Urim Books, an international member of ECPA, plans to prepare to meet the needs of Christian audiences.

Mountain Brook Ink partners with Hollywood producer

Author and publisher of Mountain Brook Ink, Miralee Ferrell, has partnered with the producer at American Cinema International, to produce three of her books. The first one, Runaway Romance, will air on UP TV, the second (Follow Your Heart) on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, and the third, Finding Love in Bridal Veil (renamed for the movie, Finding Love in Mountainview) is airing this fall on the Hallmark channel. Another of MBI’s authors, Angela Ruth Strong, recently returned from visiting the set of her upcoming movie, based on her book, Finding Love in Big Sky, Montana. Miralee Ferrell and Kimberly Rose Johnson, another MBI author, have signed an option for an additional movie, Finding Love in San Antonio, Texas. MBI hopes this will be a long and productive relationship for both ACI and MBI. ACI is currently considering three other books published by MBI.

Firebrand Technologies announce launch of podcast with Joshua Tallent: BookSmarts

Firebrand Technologies launch a brand new podcast, BookSmarts, hosted by Joshua Tallent. The BookSmarts podcast features discussions about publishing data and technologies and interviews with industry experts, deep thinkers, and doers, bringing insights that will help you sell more books. In his first episode, Joshua discusses how he sees some similarities between the state of the publishing industry and the story of the Oakland A’s baseball team as told in the movie Moneyball.
