Registration opens for ECPA webinar series starting Thursday with Kristen McLean
Beginning this Thursday, May 14, ECPA will launch the Virtual Summit Series, a weekly webcast featuring conversations with publishing experts on trends and best practices in the wake of COVID-19. Registration and information for each of the six webinars is available here.
ECPA debuts New Releases bestseller list, along with May bestseller lists
This month marks the debut of a new feature in ECPA’s bestsellers program. In an effort to highlight books that are currently trending, a New Releases list will be posted that reflect sales from their first 3 months of sales. Here are the Top 10 new release titles for this month:

ECPA releases top selling titles during the 2020 Easter season
The ECPA May Christian bestseller lists also feature the annual Easter Christian bestsellers in nonfiction and juvenile. Topping the Easter nonfiction list is Jesus Calling for Easter by Sarah Young (Thomas Nelson) and The Case for Easter by Lee Strobel (Zondervan). On top of the Easter juvenile list is The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story by Jan Berenstain (ZonderKidz) and God Gave Us Easter by Lisa Tawn Bergren (WaterBrook). Three titles from Patricia A. Pingry also made the list.
Christian Book Award winners announced; First-time author wins 2020 Christian Book of the Year
Deep Clouds, Deep Mercy: Discovering the Grace of Lament by Mark Vroegop (Crossway) was selected out of 65 finalists to represent the 2020 Christian Book of the Year. The book also won in the New Author category. “In another year a title like this would likely not have gained such attention, but Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy feels as though it was written for the times we are going through,” states ECPA president Stan Jantz.
Twelve other titles were selected as winners in their category, including a tie in the Bibles category. Stormie Omartian delivered a prayer at the end of the webcast for readers, authors and publishers in the industry: “I pray people will desire books that change lives and that it will increase beyond what we’ve ever seen in the past.”

ECPA conducts virtual events and confirms 2020-2021 board
Despite the restrictions placed on in-person gatherings, ECPA was able to convene a trio of virtual industry meetings and one event last week. In addition, two new board members were acknowledged by the ECPA board: Tina Constable, WaterBrook/Multnomah Publishing Group; and Tammy Gaines, Abingdon Press/UMPH.

Tyndale House Publishers’ “New Believer’s Bible” reaches 10 million sales plateau
Tyndale House Publishers has announced that its “New Believer’s Bible NLT” has sold more than 10 million copies. By reaching that plateau, the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) has recognized the “New Believer’s Bible” with its Diamond Award, which is presented to books that have sold more than 10 million copies.
