Christian Book Award® winners announced tomorrow night
The Christian Book Award (@CBAwards) winners in 12 categories, plus the Christian Book of the Year®, will be named tomorrow night at the ECPA Awards Celebration, among Christian publishing leaders gathered for the ECPA Leadership Summit. The event will celebrate the 65 finalists and feature a keynote from Latasha Morrison, whose book “Be The Bridge” (WaterBrook), was named the 2021 Christian Book of the Year. Other industry honors include the presentation of the Pinnacle Award to Timothy Keller, recognition of 41 books achieving sales milestones, and the 75th anniversary of InterVarsity Press and 5oth anniversary of Ligonier Ministries.

On May 17, Firebrand Technologies will host a webinar on “Mastering Metadata Cleanup: How to approach a major overhaul or a minor update,” with Joshua Tallent to walk you through the best practices, tips, tricks, and processes that lead to a successful metadata cleanup project, using real world examples from the Christian market. Brian Scharp named vice president of marketing for Nelson Books
Thomas Nelson today announced Brian Scharp as the v-p of marketing for Nelson Books, a nonfiction imprint. Scharp is an experienced publishing professional with over 25 years of marketing experience, having served as the v-p of marketing for Zondervan Bibles as well as the senior v-p of global marketing for Our Daily Bread Ministries.

InterVarsity Press (IVP) has announced that Rachel Hastings has been appointed associate editor for IVP Academic. Hastings joined IVP in 2021 as assistant project editor and was soon promoted to associate project editor for trade books. In the role of associate editor for IVP Academic she will be leading acquisitions and the development of academic books in biblical studies and related fields.

Beth Moore to release memoir with Tyndale Momentum in 2023

Bible Gateway interviewed Leslie Kehl Vann (@leslie_kehl_vann), abstract expressionist artist for the cover of the “NIV Artisan Collection Bible” (Zondervan, 2022). She says, “Some of my favorite painting techniques are double loading, palette knife, scraping, pouring, dripping, and splattering, etc. I love being surprised by these combinations and then having to react to the effects in real time. This approach lends itself to a moment of ‘creative surrender.’”
