NYT bestselling author Jennie Allen added to Art of Writing and PubU sessions
Bestselling author of Get Out of Your Head JENNIE ALLEN will deliver a special keynote webcast for the ECPA PubU Online and Christy Art of Writing communities on Thursday, November 4 at 11 am central on “Free Yourself to Thrive in Your Publishing Mission.” Jennie Allen is a bestselling author, Bible teacher and founder of IF:Gathering. A frequent speaker at national events and conferences, she is a passionate leader, following God’s call on her life to catalyze a generation to live what they believe. This session will conclude the Art of Writing weekly Thursday series for storytellers and curators and will also open the PubU Online conference for publishers.

Our Daily Bread Publishing expands team with new hires
Our Daily Bread Ministries has announced its publishing arm, Our Daily Bread Publishing, is expanding its dedicated staff with two new hires. Katara Patton, senior editor, and Joel Armstrong, content editor and product developer, both bring a wide array of expertise with them and will use their gifts to advance the organizational goals of the publishing company and the ministry.

For the past ten years, Baker Publishing Group has partnered with SPCK to present and sell Baker Publishing Group titles throughout the United Kingdom. Due to the changing business demands, climate, and constraints being felt globally, Baker has made the decision to transition to a new sales group, Synergy Book Sales, founded by Alexandra McDonald. This change will take place on April 1, 2022.

Art of Writing Series continues on Thursday with design session for non-designers
The weekly webinar series for authors, writers, and those who support them continues this Thursday, October 7 at 7 pm central, with the session, “Book Promotion Design Principles for Non-Designers” with Kristopher Orr, Art Director of Random House. In this interactive presentation, a professional designer with experience creating book ads, quote memes, and Instagram posts will be given several terribly-designed author graphics to redesign. After presenting the “before” and “after,” Orr will explain basic principles that guide composition, color, and font choices, helping move your visual brand from off-putting to eye-catching.

ECPA presents its first Children’s Book Summit for Christian publishers
As part of its online PubU Online programming, ECPA will present a full day online Children’s Book Summit on November 3, featuring five sessions on children’s books in Christian publishing. Curated and coordinated by industry experts Dr. Mary Manz Simon and Associate Publisher for Children and Youth at Tyndale House Publishers Linda Howard, the five sessions will feature 15 experts presenting in these sessions:

ECPA names 28 novels as finalists for The Christy Award®
ECPA announced 28 finalists in nine categories for the THE CHRISTY AWARD® program in an online webcast last week, hosted by Christy Hall of Fame author, CHRIS FABRY. The Christy Award® exists to celebrate excellence in the art of Christian Fiction and to honor the power of faith in story. The winner in each category will be announced at The Christy Award Gala webcast on October 28th featuring ‘The Chosen’ director and creator DALLAS JENKINS.
