HarperCollins Christian Publishing announces publishing leadership change
HarperCollins Christian Publishing has announced a transition in publishing leadership with the announcement of senior vice president and group publisher David Moberg’s intention to retire at the end of the company’s fiscal year, in June 2019. Brian Hampton, current senior vice president and publisher of Nelson Books, an imprint of Thomas Nelson, will be promoted to fill this role.

Publishers Weekly — Zondervan has entered a publishing partnership with Seedbed, a media platform and the publishing arm of Asbury Theological Seminary. The partnership will feature four to six co-branded books a year on church leadership, ministry, and more for both church leaders and lay people. Seedbed is based in Franklin, Tenn.
ECPA hosts three events for publishing professionals & industry creatives, Nov. 6-7 in Nashville
ECPA will again pair its Publishing University (PubU) program with The Christy Award™ Gala and Art of Writing conference on November 6-7 at Lipscomb University in Nashville. The events combined will present 48 industry intensive sessions. StoryBrand’s DONALD MILLER will “bridge” PubU and the Art of Writing conference as keynote.
PubU will gather more than 200 publishing professionals, from early afternoon November 6 to early afternoon November 7, for 44 sessions in “hot” publishing topics by industry leaders and experts — from Audio, Amazon, and Authors, to Readers, Retail, Research, and more — in tracks marked for marketing & publicity, editorial, design, rights management, reader engagement, and data, delivery & workflow.
The Art of Writing Conference, held immediately following PubU on November 7, is designed to bring Christian creatives and publishing curators together for a half day of four intensive seminars for writers and publishers.
The Christy Award Gala held that evening will honor the power of Story, the legacy of Madeleine L’Engle, and the year’s best in Christian fiction by announcing the 2018 winners of The Christy Award™.
