ECPA and the publishers planning to be a part of the Christian Collective have cancelled their participation in the 2021 Frankfurt Book Fair. With the possibility of additional travel restrictions, continued risk of Covid exposure, and fewer attendees from around the world resulting in reduced appointments, the decision was made not to attend this year. ECPA and the Collective hope to resume their attendance in 2022. For more information on the 2022 collectives in London, Krakow, and Frankfurt, contact Cynthia Helblig.
DEADLINE IS FRIDAY: Nominate an Emerging Leader to attend PubU on scholarship
Connect new and diverse voices in your company with the training, connection, and vision at PubU Online by encouraging their nominations as an Emerging Leader before the deadline on September 24. In its sixth year, this program helps those newer to the industry — with a focus on professionals from under-represented ethnicities — to have access to PubU training, industry connection, and mentoring — for only $49.
Early bird rate for PubU Online expires in two weeks
ECPA’s virtual event, PubU Online, will deliver targeted, accessible training and connection for the industry on November 3-12. For one registration price, attendees have access to all online sessions, forums, recordings, and other attendees. The early bird rate of $109 expires on October 1st. Publishing experts, recruited by the PubU Brain Trust, will lead more than 25 sessions in the following day-long tracks:
- November 3: CHILDREN’S BOOK SUMMIT
- November 8: MARKETING TRACK
- November 9: DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION TRACK
- November 10: EDITORIAL TRACK
- November 11: PRODUCTION & OPERATIONS TRACK

Finalists to be announced for The Christy Award® on September 30 via webcast
The Christy Award program will announce the finalists in nine Christian fiction categories on September 30 at 11 am central via a free webcast hosted by bestselling and Christy Hall of Fame author and popular radio broadcaster Chris Fabry. The webcast precedes the weekly Art of Writing Thursday evening series, which will launch that same day at 7 pm central with the session, “How to Be A Publishing Team’s Dream Author” led by editors at Bethany House, HarperCollins Christian, Tyndale House, and WaterBrook & Multnomah.
