The Christy Award finalists in nine Christian fiction categories will be revealed by live webcast this Thursday, September 30 at 11 am central time. The announcements will be made by Christy Hall of Fame bestselling author and radio host Chris Fabry and ECPA president Jeff Crosby. The webcast is free, but registration is required. REGISTER
The Art of Writing webinar series launches Thursday: Conversation with four industry editors
The first Art of Writing session, a weekly webinar series for storytellers and those who publish them, launches on Thursday evening at 7 pm central time with “How to Be a Publishing Team’s Dream Author,” featuring some of the industry’s top fiction acquisition editors: Becky Monds (HarperCollins Christian Publishing), Stephanie Broene (Tyndale House Publishers), Chris Sigfrids (WaterBrook & Multnomah) and Amy Green Lokkesmoe (Bethany House Publishers). The session is part of a four-part training series for storytellers and their publishers, including webinars on “Book Promotion Design Principles,” “Writing with Authenticity & Intentionality” and “Emotional, Spiritual, and Mental Health for Creatives.” Registration for all four-sessions is $79. Whitaker House author, pastor R. Loren Sandford, passes away from COVID-19
Whitaker House author and lead pastor at the nondenominational New Song Church and Ministries in Denver, Colorado, Pastor R. Loren Sandford, died Friday, Sept. 17, due to complications from COVID-19. Sandford was 70.

2K/DENMARK president and CEO to give address at Museum of the Bible
Klaus E. Krogh of 2K/DENMARK will be the featured speaker at Museum of the Bible’s Lunch and Learn, where he’ll discuss the different typefaces used for printing Bible, the need to contemplate the readability, artistry, and technical challenges of designing and choosing fonts, and what makes a good typeface for Bibles. Krogh will also investigate how a typeface designed for the KJV from an artistic standpoint should differ from one designed for the NIV or the NRSV.
