“That’s What Heroes Do” teaches kids about the importance of everyday heroes
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 17, 2026) – Former U.S. Representative and current political commentator and New York Times bestselling author Adam Kinzinger announced today his first children’s book, That’s What Heroes Do (ISBN: 9781400252725), a heartfelt picture book designed to help young readers understand the true meaning of heroism, releasing May 5. Drawing from his own experiences in the Air Force, Kinzinger takes children on an imaginative journey across the United States to discover that heroes are all around.

About Adam Kinzinger: Adam Daniel Kinzinger is an American former politician and senior political commentator for CNN. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after 20 years of service. During his military career, he flew missions in South America, Guam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. His final overseas deployment was in Iraq, where he flew the RC-26, a surveillance aircraft.
