Hachette Nashville Vice President & Publisher Daisy Hutton recently announced the promotion of several members of the Hachette Nashville team.
Marissa Arrigoni is promoted to Associate Editor and Specialty Project Editor. Marissa joined us just over three years ago as an editorial assistant. In short order, she not only mastered the core elements of her job, becoming a whiz at TM and at every other system we use, she also became our resident expert in solving complex problems and an important voice for her generation in our acquisitions and positioning decisions. She has earned the trust and admiration of everyone she works with – colleagues, agents, authors – and her unflappable poise and unwavering determination have been extraordinary assets to our program time and again. In her new role, Marissa will report to Editorial Director Beth Adams and will continue to acquire and build her own list as well as supporting Beth with her projects. Marissa also takes on full editorial responsibility for all of Joyce Meyer’s non-trade publishing, including frontlist devotional publishing and bible study publishing and backlist management for Joyce’s expansive catalog. Additionally, she will serve in a key role managing special projects for us, including custom editions and IP product creation.
Whitney Hicks is promoted to Associate Art Director. Whitney has been the secret weapon on our creative team for almost a decade now. Her humility can be deceiving; she is among the most nuanced, insightful, versatile, and talented designers I’ve ever worked with. Her quiet wisdom and her ability to roll with the punches has seen us through countless complex situations. One of my favorite things about Whitney are her zingers – she listens quietly while her brain is working and then arrives at a brilliant insight that untangles conundrums and pushes our overall work to a new, more sophisticated level. Whitney also knows her way around an Excel spreadsheet and is as strong on process as she is on creative. Last year, her talents were in full view when she did all the design work on the Majestic Bible, including the branding and packaging. Whitney never fails to surprise us as she unveils new talents on a regular basis, and we look forward to the impact of her expanded role in some of our most important new initiatives, including bible and bible tab design, IP product design, and the roll out of our new Apiary brand.
