Leading Players from the U.K. & Around the World Speak at Annual Event
Charlottesville, VA and London, U.K. (June 9, 2017) —INTERQUEST, a leading market and technology research and consulting firm serving the digital printing and publishing industry, today announced speakers for the 2017 London Digital Book Printing Forum, which will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 9:00 to 17:00 at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The full-day educational event focuses on key trends in the book market, the evolution of book manufacturing and the supply chain, and the use of digital printing to produce books.
The program will be kicked off by a panel of book industry leaders who will share their thoughts on the future outlook for the market.
Following the panel, Gilles Biscos, President of INTERQUEST, will provide an overview and analysis of the key trends and developments that are occurring in the book market and will present the findings of his firm’s latest research on the current and future use of digital printing in the book market, globally and in Europe and the U.K.
During the next session, leaders in book publishing and manufacturing will discuss their efforts to streamline the supply chain; their investments in process/workflow automation to increase productivity; as well as vendors’ developments to reduce equipment acquisition/running cost. Speakers include: Martin Collyer, General Manager of the STMA Division at CPI U.K.; Claire Humphreys, MCIPS/Supplier Manager – Group Procurement at Oxford University Press (OUP); and Andy Cork, Managing Director of Printondemand-worldwide.
Prior to lunch, industry leaders and new dynamic/creative players will discuss emerging business models and opportunities enabled by digital communication and printing technology that can benefit all members of the book supply chain. Speakers include: Erwin Busselot, Business Innovations & Solutions Director, Production Printing at Ricoh Europe; Christian Vié, President of Orséry from France; and Valérie Hermann, Strategy & Development Director of Ilp Groupe in France and Senegal.
After the lunch break, prominent printers and publishers will present their assessments and needs concerning the quality of digitally produced books, as they are trying to expand the use of the technology into more demanding colour applications.
Speakers will include: Simon Crump, Head of Supply Chain Operations, Academic Books at Cambridge University Press; Neill Thompson, Senior Production Manager at Hay House U.K.; and Dave Barrett, Head of Inventory at Taylor & Francis Books.
Then, forward thinking international players will present their book manufacturing and digital printing activities, along with the latest solutions they have implemented and their visions of the future. Speakers include: Derek Giulianelli, Vice President of Sales at BR Printers in the U.S.; Alper Çifçi, Director of the Printing Business Unit at Meteksan in Turkey; and Rombout Eikelenboom, Managing Partner of Printforce in The Netherlands.
The seminar will wrap up with another session during which industry leaders and new dynamic/creative players will discuss emerging business models and opportunities that can benefit all members of the book supply chain. Speakers include: Nico Veenendaal, Director, Personalgifts.nl and Yoursurprise.com from the Netherlands; Hubert Dalstein, Co-Founder and Business Development Director, 1Year1Book from France; and Darryl Allen, Commercial Manager at Harrier Print.
