(Grand Rapids, MI) March 7, 2018—After a 33-year career at Zondervan, Sandy Vander Zicht, associate publisher and executive editor for Zondervan nonfiction, has announced her plan to retire, effective July 2018.
Vander Zicht began her career at Zondervan in Bible publishing, working on projects like The NIV Study Bible and The Student Bible before transitioning to the Zondervan nonfiction team as an acquisitions editor in 1986.
For three decades, Vander Zicht has been a key figure on the Zondervan nonfiction team, acquiring and editing hundreds of nonfiction trade books and helping authors create bestselling content in books such as Boundaries, by Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend, Women of the Bible by Ann Spangler, One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp, The Daniel Prayer by Anne Graham Lotz, Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott, Unashamed by Christine Caine, and many others. “Sandy’s work has undoubtably fostered spiritual growth, compelled readers to Christ, and changed countless lives,” says David Morris, vice president and publisher for Zondervan nonfiction. “In addition to exceptional editing skills, a strong hand in driving acquisitions, and a good sense of how to successfully collaborate with authors, Sandy has also brought style and panache in her ardent support of the Zondervan brand.”
