Anniversary campaign includes 30 weeks of Bible giveaways, endorsements from ministry leaders, and stories of lives changed through Scripture.
CAROL STREAM, IL—For 30 years, the New Living Translation (NLT) has helped millions of readers experience the Bible in language that is accurate, understandable and audibly enjoyable. As the NLT marks its 30th anniversary in July 2026, Tyndale House Publishers is launching a 30-week celebration highlighting the translation’s enduring impact and growing influence among Bible readers around the world.
The anniversary campaign will include weekly Bible giveaways, with 30 Bibles awarded over 30 weeks, along with the sharing of 30 endorsements from pastors, scholars, authors, and ministry leaders whose lives and ministries have been shaped by the NLT.
The NLT was created to help readers understand the meaning of Scripture as clearly and accurately as possible. When readers understand God’s Word, they are more likely to engage with it regularly, apply it to their lives, and be transformed by its message.
“We believe that the New Living Translation—which combines the latest biblical scholarship with a clear, dynamic writing style—communicates God’s word powerfully to all who read it, said Mark Taylor, Chairman of the NLT Bible Translation Committee. “We continue to publish it with the prayer that God will use it to speak his timeless truth to the church and the world in a fresh, new way.”
Created by a team of more than 100 leading biblical scholars, the NLT is translated directly from the earliest and most reliable Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts. Its meaning-based translation approach seeks to faithfully communicate the intent of the original authors in language that is clear and engaging for modern readers.
“We pray that the New Living Translation will overcome some of the barriers of history, culture, and language that have kept people from reading and understanding God’s Word,” said the NLT Bible Translation Committee.
The anniversary celebration also provides an opportunity to reaffirm the NLT’s brand promise: to help people experience the life-changing truth of Scripture through a translation that is accurate, understandable, and audibly enjoyable. During the translation process, the NLT is read aloud, with an eye toward cadence and flow, to ensure that the text sounds natural and engaging.
“While it’s a privilege to partner with some of the brightest scholars in biblical translation, our greater joy is in knowing that the NLT has helped to build biblical engagement and understanding for many millions of people, all around the world,” said Amy Simpson, Publisher, Bibles, Kids & Spanish. “Our work is fueled by our trust in God’s work and in his promise that his Word is powerful and life-changing. We hear from so many who take great joy in not only reading the Bible and understanding it but responding to it. What a blessing to consider the impact of that ministry over 30 years!”
Since its introduction in 1996, the NLT has become one of the most widely used English Bible translations, trusted by churches, ministries, educators, and individual readers. As the NLT enters its fourth decade, Tyndale remains committed to helping new generations of readers engage deeply with God’s Word and experience its truth, wisdom, and transforming power.
Readers can join the 30th anniversary celebration by following the NLT on Facebook (@NewLivingTranslation) and Instagram (@nltbible), where weekly giveaways, reader stories, and special anniversary content will be shared over the next 30 weeks.
