Daily engagement with God’s Word continues to soar
(Nashville, TN) Dec. 7, 2017 — Thomas Nelson and Zondervan announced today that more than five million combined Bible Plans from Thomas Nelson and Zondervan have been completed through the YouVersion Bible App. In just over three years, the two publishing groups, who are both a part of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, have created more than 150 scriptural and devotional Bible Plans with an average of 7,000 being completed per day.
Aligning the publishing groups’ mission to inspire the world with content that honors God with YouVersion’s purpose to help people fully engage with Scripture, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan offer a variety of free content from their Bibles and their study resources, children’s, fiction, and non-fiction books. Ranging in length from a few days to an entire year, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan offer Bible Plans in the KJV, NKJV and NIV translations, in addition to book excerpts from leading authors like Max Lucado, Louie Giglio and Sarah Young, paired with a daily devotional.
“Many Bible Plans offered through The Bible App span between three to seven days,” said Jerri Helms, HarperCollins Christian Publishing’s senior director of digital marketing strategy. “With about seven thousand Bible Plans being completed per day, it is exciting to see people applying our great content to their own life, as they engage with God’s Word.”
The Bible App, which has now been downloaded nearly 300 million times, places the best-selling book of all time in the hands of people worldwide. The Bible App currently offers over 1,600 versions of the Bible in more than 1,100 languages across every major mobile platform. Whether someone is a frequent or first-time reader of the Bible, the free app enables users to customize their experience, without the interruption of ads.
