Tyndale is also releasing The Architect, a middle grade fiction book, slated for film production, by Jonathan Starrett on February 7, 2023.
A children’s favorite for decades, award-winning author Dandi Daley Mackall’s new book Bedtime in the Barnyard will delight young audiences. The rhyming board book has beautiful illustrations of baby farm animals preparing to go to sleep. This book is perfect for parents who want to tuck their children into bed while reading a captivating bedtime story.
Lucky for Winnie features Winnie Willis, the star of the bestselling Winnie the Horse Gentler series, which has sold more than half a million copies and taught kids around the world about faith, kindness, and horse training. In Lucky for Winnie, Winnie struggles with the temptation to cheat by tracing art for a contest, but she learns that her family loves her regardless of her artistic skills. Winnie, in turn, learns how to accept her horse regardless of the horse’s skills. This book is ideal for budding readers, and parents will appreciate the story’s important life lessons.
Also featuring Winnie Willis from the Horse Gentler series is Homesick Horse. In this book, Winnie helps a new horse overcome his fears. Although Buck initially hesitates to leave his home in the barn, Winnie teaches him that he can safely venture out into the world. Simultaneously, Winnie is afraid of a sleepover at her friend’s house. Winnie learns that she is with Jesus, no matter where she goes, which gives her the confidence to step out of her comfort zone.
The Architect is a middle grade book featuring a superhero and supervillain. This story follows a brave girl, Charlie, who confronts the evil in her city. A mysterious Architect who she has never seen speaks to her through the radio and gives her instructions on how to defeat the villain. Charlie wrestles with trusting and following a voice that is not familiar to her. The story is set in a dynamic city with steampunk themes and images that will excite middle grade readers. The author, Jonathan Starrett, is a children’s pastor, storyteller, and illustrator, and he used his set of skills to bring this story to life.
