Daisy Hutton and Karen Longino at Hachette Nashville acquired North American rights to Mary Katherine (MK) Backstrom’s nonfiction work Holy Hot Mess, in an exclusive submission. Mike Salisbury at Yates & Yates represented the author, saying MK is one of a kind. “MK has that rare talent to blend humor and honesty into a fun, authentic voice.” Daisy Hutton added, “MK’s voice is fresh and so very fabulous – she has an uncanny ability to help us find both the sacred and the hilarity amidst the messiest of realities. Our team is looking forward to helping her build her career as an author.”
In Holy Hot Mess, founder of Mom Babble and viral blogger MK shares personal, heartbreaking and humorous stories about the messiness of life, and showing how God uses each mess in our life to bring us closer to Him. Recently, MK appeared on the Ellen Show after her Facebook video “My Most Embarrassing Moment (Christmas is SO Magical)” received over 100 million views.
Holy Hot Mess is slated for early Fall 2021.
