Hettie Brittz to host Facebook Live chat on Growing Kids with Character

March 19, 2018 by Sheri Toomb

David C Cook author will share tips on nurturing children’s God-given personalities

Seattle: Hettie Brittz, author of the newly released Growing Kids with Character (David C Cook/March 1, 2018), will host a Facebook Live chat with readers on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 8:00 PM EDT/5:00 PM PDT.

During the live, hour-long conversation, Brittz will be sharing advice on parenting according to the temperament of each child and why it is important to do so to shape his or her character for his or her purpose in Christ. Through Brittz’s famous tree metaphors, parents will discover how to encourage their kids to excel at being who they naturally are as they grow in their unique purpose in the world.

Readers will also be able to ask Brittz questions via the moderated chat section. Copies of Growing Kids with Character will be given away throughout the night, and at the end of the evening, the winner of the Family Fun prize pack will be announced.

The first step to identifying a child’s natural bent and how it affects the parenting journey is to take the online Tall Trees Profiles assessment. Each copy of the Growing Kids with Character includes a code for one free, in-depth child profile report. Supplied with the knowledge of what tree type (or combination of types) best describes the child, Growing Kids with Character provides insights for understanding and embracing each child’s unique journey and outlines how to shape his or her character for his or her purpose in Christ. Parents will learn how to:

  • Recognize their child’s strongest characteristics and apply that knowledge to everyday life.
  • Speak their child’s unique dialect (or “tree language”) to foster effective communication.
  • Cultivate each of their kids’ unique way of encountering, following, and worshipping God.
  • Disciple and discipline based on each child’s blueprint.
  • Help their child celebrate God’s individualized design for others.

For any parents who thought their child should have come with an instruction manual, Brittz provides a resource to understand their child’s natural bents not only to excel in life but also to establish their identity and purpose firmly in Christ better.

LeVar Burton to narrate Mister Rogers bio, The Good Neighbor, for Oasis Audio

March 19, 2018 by Sheri Toomb

Host of Reading Rainbow “thrilled” to voice first full-length biography of mentor Fred Rogers

CAROL STREAM, IL, March 19, 2018 — Oasis Audio, a leading independent audiobook publisher, today announced that they have obtained the audio rights to Maxwell King’s biography of Fred Rogers, The Good Neighbor. LeVar Burton — best known as host of Reading Rainbow and for his roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Roots — has signed on to narrate.

The Good Neighbor is the first full-length biography of Fred Rogers, the eponymous star of public television’s Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. King draws from original interviews, oral histories and archival documents for an engaging story that traces the personal, professional and artistic life of a beloved American icon. 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the first Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood national broadcast.

“I am thrilled to be giving voice to The Good Neighbor,” said Burton. “I am lucky to have been able to call Fred both a mentor and a friend, and hardly a day goes by that I am not acutely aware of his profound influence on so many — myself included.”

As host of PBS’ Reading Rainbow, Burton’s career crossed paths with Fred Rogers’ many times. Most notably, Burton was a guest on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood in 1998 and the two participated in the 1996 White House Conference on Children’s Television. In 2004, Burton received the Fred Rogers Award for excellence in children’s educational media.

“Fred Rogers has impacted generations of children and parents, and there is no one better suited to be the voice of his story than LeVar Burton,” said Oasis Audio President Steve Smith. “Maxwell King has done a brilliant job capturing Rogers’ life in rich detail. He was a champion of compassion, equality and kindness — values that grow more relevant with every passing year. Between the depth of King’s content and Burton’s immense talent, we are excited to produce a truly special listening experience.”

The Good Neighbor audiobook will be available September 11, releasing simultaneously with the print edition from Abrams Books.

Audrey and Jeremy Roloff to Release A Love Letter Life in April 2019

Grand Rapids, Mich., March 6, 2018 – Husband and wife and co-stars of TLC’s Little People, Big World, Jeremy and Audrey Roloff, have signed a three-book contract with Zondervan including two trade titles and one gift book. The Roloffs are represented by Bryan Norman with Alive Literary Agency and world rights were acquired by Carolyn McCready.

More than 2.3 million viewers watched as Jeremy and Audrey Roloff committed their lives to one another, but their wedding day was the culmination of a bumpy and complicated dating relationship. From health problems to disagreements to being separated by one thousand miles, the couple faced daunting obstacles. But their unique approach to dating empowered them to write an uncommon love story that led them to their wedding day.

Now the Roloffs are ready to share what they’ve learned in hopes of helping others avoid dating dysfunction and find a godly mate. In A Love Letter Life (on sale April 2019), the Roloffs say that dating is less like playing a game and more like spinning a spellbinding story. Through the lens of raw, never-before shared tales from their own dating journey, the Roloffs provide revolutionary advice for anyone who is looking for love.

Audrey Roloff is passionate about motivating women to always believe in the more that is within them through Christ. Her life mantra “always more” is the lifeblood of her lifestyle blog aujpoj.com, devotionals, and clothing line. She is also the cofounder of Beating50Percent, a marriage ministry with the hope of reviving covenant marriages and inspiring young couples to give more than average to their relationship. She grew up downhill ski racing but eventually became a collegiate distance runner. She is mama, barre3 instructor, lover of all things floral, antiques, and the Pacific Northwest.

Jeremy Roloff grew up on a 110-acre farm in Helvetia, Oregon, alongside his twin brother and two younger siblings. Jeremy helps his parents, who are both dwarfs, run Roloff Farm’s pumpkin patch, which brings in thousands of visitors from around the world every weekend in October. Jeremy has a degree in professional photography, and is the co-founder of Beating50Percent, a marriage ministry on mission to revive covenant marriages. He also grew up filming for a reality television show called Little People, Big World, which has been following his family since he was twelve years old. He is a 5 on the enneagram, loves old cars, and will never pass up an evening by the campfire.

Howard Books to publish a new book by the late evangelist Billy Graham

March 12, 2018 by Sheri Toomb

“My one purpose in life is to help people find a personal relationship with God, which, I believe, comes through knowing Christ.”  — Billy Graham

(NEW YORK, February 27, 2018) Howard Books, an imprint of the Atria Publishing Group, announced today that they will publish Hear My Heart: What I Would Say to You, a posthumous book by Billy Graham on March 6.  Howard acquired the right to publish the book owned by Christianity Today in 2012, with the understanding that it would be published upon Graham’s death. Christianity Today was founded by Graham in 1956 to provide evangelical thought leaders a sense of community, coherence, and direction through thoughtful, Biblical commentary on issues and through careful, caring reporting of the news.

This legacy book compiles many articles written by Billy Graham from 1955 to 2014 and invites you to sit down with Billy and hear in his own unvarnished words the things that moved his heart regarding relevant issues of the day. The Biblical convictions he abided by. The reasons and regrets behind some of his decisions. And the wisdom he gained in his century on this earth.

Among the topics covered:

  • What it Means to be “Born Again”
  • Why the World Matters so Much
  • When Tolerance Becomes Sin
  • Confronting Racism
  • My Role in the Watergate Crisis
  • What I would have done differently

Hear My Heart also presents stirring tributes, collected over many years, about Billy and his legacy from those who knew him best – J.I. Packer, Philip Yancey, John R.W. Stott, Ruth Graham and more. Though their lives may have changed, Billy’s impact remains the same, and their words are beautifully preserved in essays that reflect the power of his ministry. In his afterword Rick Warren writes “Billy Graham is gone.  This mighty man of God is now wrapped in the arms of his beloved redeemer.  Yet this evangelist, counselor to world leaders, and unshakable beacon of integrity and stability has left deep footprints that will remain vivid to the entire world for generations to come.”

ABOUT BILLY GRAHAM: During his lifetime (1918-2018), Billy Graham preached to more people in live audiences (nearly 215 million) than anyone else in history, with millions more reached through his television, video, film, and webcasts. Named by the Gallup organization as one of the “Ten Most Admired Men in the World” a record 50+ times, he has received dozens of honors and has helped launch numerous organizations such as Youth for Christ and Christianity Today. He has also played a significant role in the development of other leading ministries such as World Vision and World Relief. Graham has written more than 30 books that have been translated into dozens of languages, including several New York Times and CBA bestsellers.

W Publishing Group to release new book by Franklin Graham on lessons learned from his father, Billy Graham

March 12, 2018 by Sheri Toomb

Through My Father’s Eyes coming early May

(Nashville, Tenn.) – Throughout recent weeks, the world has been captivated by countless tributes and heart-felt memorials to the late Rev. Billy Graham. Now, Franklin Graham is preparing to share a lifetime of personal memories, anecdotes, and lessons that he has learned from his father in Through My Father’s Eyes – a book that has taken almost twelve years to complete.

“My father’s image will remain etched in my mind and his voice will ring in my ears,” says Franklin Graham. “The lessons I have learned through my father’s eyes have anchored me and made me realize that what he taught me was what he also learned through his Father’s eyes from heaven. I believe this book will give readers a look into the heart of a father who has never disappointed his son. This is just a glimpse of what all believers learn from the love of a heavenly Father.”

“With Billy Graham now in Heaven, I can think of no better person to take us behind the scenes of his life and mission than his son, Franklin,” says Matt Baugher, senior vice president at HarperCollins Christian Publishing. “This is a book that Franklin has been working on for years and it had just been completed when his father passed away on February 21, 2018. It is an honor to work with Franklin and the entire Graham family to advance the Gospel, the message Billy has preached, and to make this important book available to the public as soon as possible.”

Franklin Graham is chairman and president of Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian relief and evangelistic organization, and also serves as president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Franklin is the fourth of Billy and Ruth Bell Graham’s five children. An avid outdoorsman and pilot, he lives with his wife Jane Austin in North Carolina where they have raised four children and now have twelve grandchildren.

Donna Lee Toney, a colleague of Franklin Graham for thirty-seven years, has been involved in the ministries of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and in literary collaboration since 1982, most recently on the release of the New York Times best-seller Where I Am and the bestselling The Reason for My Hope: Salvation with Billy Graham.

About Through My Father’s Eyes:

  • W Publishing Group, ISBN# 978-0-7852-2713-7, May 1, 2018
  • The finished book will be $26.99, printed case-side with marketing o-wrap.

Best-selling Young Adult Fiction author to release new nature documentary – The Riot and the Dance – in theaters nationwide for one night on March 19

March 12, 2018 by Sheri Toomb

Acclaimed Writer N.D. Wilson Creates A Family-Friendly Cinematic Event that Explores the Wonders of the Natural World and Celebrates Creation and it’s Creator

Nashville, TN – Best-selling author N.D. Wilson (100 Cupboards, Outlaws of Time, Death by Living) is preparing to release THE RIOT AND THE DANCE , a nature and science documentary showcasing the vast and beautifully intricate planet on which we live.

On March 19, in a one-night, cinematic event, moviegoers will have the chance to dive deep into nature, appreciate the wonders of the animal kingdom and discover the world around us in a bold, new way.  A celebration of creation and the Creator, THE RIOT AND THE DANCE shares how the Greatest Artist in the History of History is showing his greatest work, outside your door, right now, and forevermore.

N.D. shares, “For as long as I can remember, I’ve imagined making a nature doc. I grew up chasing critters with my Uncle Gordon, and I wanted to capture and share with audiences the same celebratory joy and amazement that I experienced as a kid, and that I still experience today.”

THE RIOT AND THE DANCE is a glorious uproar of creation that follows acclaimed biologist Dr. Gordon Wilson as he traverses our planet, sharing nature’s masterpieces everywhere from the jungle, to the desert, to his own backyard. Through inspiring narration and a powerful visual experience, audiences of any age will develop a greater understanding of and appreciation for the Creator’s workmanship and personality.

Dr. Wilson received a sticky-note early in his career that stated that he could not have a career in biology if he continued to believe in a Creator.  This propelled the scientist to dig even deeper into his studies. Dr. Wilson holds that if we want to learn about God, we need to not only study His scriptures, we need to study his creation as well.

“For the past three years, we have been capturing on film just a fraction of the many wonders in the world around us,” he continues. “What better way for us to celebrate and get to know the Creator of the Universe than to study and share His incredible creation. We hope that viewers are inspired to take a deeper look at the riot and the dance in the desert, in the jungle and in their own backyards.”

N.D. Wilson is best known for his books in the Young Adult fiction space, including the series 100 Cupboards, Outlaws of Time and Ashtown Burials, but won top honors in the Christianity Today Book Awards 2014 for his non-fiction project Death by Living.  Behind the camera, N.D. has found an audience through “Remaking the Shroud” for National Geographic Channel and his feature film debut THE RIVER THIEF.

Distributed through Fathom Events, fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event on March 19 in more than 800 select movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network (DBN). Audiences will also experience a conversation immediately after the film, featuring special appearances from Dr. Ken Ham, Eric Metaxas, Propaganda and other noted guests.  “The Riot and the Dance” will be shown in each market at 7:00pm local time, and tickets available for purchase online at www.FathomEvents.com or directly from participating theater box offices.

For a complete list of theater locations, and for more information, please visit “The Riot and the Dance” website.

About N.D. Wilson
N.D. Wilson is the husband of one, the father of five, and the best-selling author of eleven novels, with one more forthcoming.
